According to the developers, in the final version of The Division, there will be a vendor NPC that sells skins for your weapons.
In the Closed Beta of Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO shooter, weapon skins were scarce. Those who managed to obtain a skin counted themselves among the few lucky ones. In the main game, there should be another way to give your favorite weapon a new look.
During a livestream on Twitch, the developer Massive Entertainment announced that there will be a seller offering several weapon skins. Until now, the skins had simply been too rare, and the distribution was not right. With the option of a vendor, significantly more players can stock up on desirable skins and customize their characters.
However, fans’ opinions on this news are widely divided, as seen in the reddit forum. Some are pleased, while others react indignant.
A user says: “Honestly, I like it the way it has been so far. Skins should be rare. I don’t want to see every player with a pink or neon green weapon.“
The majority of users wonder if this is really necessary. Some received over five skins during the beta weekend. That seems more than sufficient. There is also the question of why the developers don’t just tweak the distribution instead of introducing a vendor. The reactions from fans are thus predominantly negative.
What do you think of a skin vendor?
