Numerous ambitious agents have already left the previous content of The Division 2 behind and are now eagerly awaiting World Tier 5. But why actually?
What are the World Tiers all about? World Tiers are an element of the endgame in The Division 2. Once you reach the endgame, the game world is divided into World Tiers.
The World Tiers define the strength of your enemies, how powerful your loot can be (Gearscore), and which endgame content is available to you. There are a total of five World Tiers in The Division 2.
What makes World Tier 5 so special
How to reach World Tier 5: The endgame begins after you have completed the story, leveled your agent to 30, and conquered the strongholds of the three factions. Then you will ascend to the first World Tier.
In a kind of additional endgame campaign, you must fight a new faction, the Black Tusk, which has now invaded Washington after the “first liberation” by the agents.
To progress further in the World Tiers, you must reclaim the three strongholds again – one for each additional World Tier. However, these are now newly occupied and significantly reinforced.
For this, you will play special endgame content, known as invaded missions, with new and tougher enemies – two per stronghold. Additionally, you must raise your Gearscore, as each World Tier has a specific Gearscore requirement that must be met initially. However, at World Tier 4, with a Gearscore around 470, it currently ends.
What makes World Tier 5 so special? World Tier 5 is currently not in the game. But what makes it so special and why are so many players waiting for it?
Many hardcore fans or particularly ambitious players have already mastered World Tiers 1 to 4, possess a Gearscore beyond 450, have top gear, and are waiting for the next step. Many do not want to invest any more time on World Tier 4.
Because numerous players see World Tiers 1 to 4 merely as the gateway to the endgame. The true endgame itself would only begin with World Tier 5.
And: This fifth and final tier is not just another World Tier. It is expected to bring additional features that are highly anticipated into the game.
What’s in World Tier 5 of The Division 2
What to expect with World Tier 5: First, a new stronghold is supposed to be added to the game. This is called Tidal Basin and belongs to the new faction Black Tusk.
Once you master it, you will enter the 5th and final World Tier. Then, according to current plans, the following innovations await you:
The Gear Sets: The Gear Sets will finally become available. These are particularly powerful equipment sets that come with unique bonuses. They allow additional optimizations for specific roles and open up countless more build possibilities. Many agents are especially looking forward to this feature.
Increased Gearscore: With World Tier 5, the maximum Gearscore will be raised again. The new cap will then be 500. Players will therefore have new reasons to grind the endgame content for better gear.
This is also one of the main reasons why players do not want to “waste” much time on the grind and gear optimization at World Tier 4. Because a large part of the equipment will then become obsolete with World Tier 5.
It is only worth it, in the eyes of many fans, to perfect builds and gear down to the smallest detail on World Tier 5.
New difficulty and Weekly Invasions: At the same time, there will also be a new difficulty – Heroic. This will provide even the toughest and best agents with a new challenge and reward them with better loot.
Here, you will be able to put your builds and gear to the ultimate test. Additionally, there will be a new mission format called Weekly Invasions introduced.
When is World Tier 5 coming? A specific date is still pending. However, players should not have to wait much longer. As with the first raid, the developers mentioned for World Tier 5 “shortly after release.” This week, however, the start is excluded.
