The Division 2 has introduced new gear that will be added to the game with Title Update 11. Among these is a new gear set that many players are already looking forward to. However, some believe that this set will not make it into the game in its current form.
What is the new gear set all about? Recently, Massive shared numerous fresh details about the upcoming major update for The Division 2 in their developer vlog, State of the Game – Title Update 11 (TU11).
Among other things, they finally introduced the new Skyscraper mode “The Summit”, which many have been eagerly anticipating. Additionally, there was a look at new gear that will soon be available to Division agents – including 3 new exotics, new weapons, and new gear sets.
Particularly, one gear set has captured the attention of many and is considered by some to be the big upcoming highlight alongside the new Summit mode. But why? Let’s take a look at the new set.
This is the new gear set “Hunter’s Fury”
This is why many are looking forward to it: After the presentation of the set, many experts, players, and fans are excited. Because it is what many have been wishing for a long time – finally a truly powerful set that can create good synergies with exotics (for example, with the new “Ridgeway’s Pride” chest piece or the Backfire SMG) and other pieces of gear. Even the developers mentioned during the presentation that it could be OP.
Gear sets should provide the most powerful equipment in the game alongside exotics, allowing for a variety of effective builds. However, this is not always the case. This new gear set, however, raises hopes for improvement among many.
It is designed for close-combat DPS, emphasizes survivability through aggressive gameplay, and particularly promotes the use of SMGs and shotguns – something that has been lacking in the eyes of some players.
This is what Hunter’s Fury can do: For gear sets, the rule is: activating a special bonus after equipping 2 set pieces. The more pieces of a set you wear, the more and more powerful bonuses you unlock for your agent. Hunter’s Fury offers you the following:
Bonus with 2+ pieces:
- +15% shotgun damage
- +15% SMG damage
Bonus with 3+ pieces:
- +20% armor on kill
- +100% health on kill
Bonus with 4+ pieces:
- Apex Predator: Enemies within a radius of 15 meters receive a debuff that increases your weapon damage against them by 20%. If you then take down a debuffed enemy with your weapon, other enemies within 5 meters become disoriented, and your weapon damage is increased by 5% for 10 seconds (can stack up to 5x).
Chest talent:
- Endless Hunger: Increases the duration of Apex Predator stacks from 10 to 30 seconds.
Backpack talent:
- Overwhelming Force: Increases the disorientation radius on Apex Predator kills from 5 to 10 meters.
What players are saying about the upcoming gear set
In short: Many are looking forward to it. Finally, a gear set is coming that sounds truly powerful and promises cool gameplay as well as numerous exciting build possibilities, according to the general sentiment.
For example, the well-known Division expert NothingButSkillz said he hasn’t looked forward to any other gear set as much as to Hunter’s Fury. He is confident that many will really enjoy this set.

But there is a catch. Massive has essentially hinted that this set is indeed really OP. Some players also share this view. Many fear that the set in the presented form will never go live. Numerous players are convinced that there will definitely be a nerf before the actual release of the set with TU11. In their eyes, Hunter’s Fury will not survive the currently starting PTS phase unharmed.
It remains to be seen how this new gear set, which many are currently looking forward to, will ultimately be introduced into the live game. However, if it does come in the presented form, one can be sure that a real equipment highlight is on the way for the agents. We will definitely keep following this matter.
