The MMORPG Divergence Online is now in Steam Early Access and the developers are expressing their dissatisfaction with users who want to get the game for free in exchange for a good review.
It is often heard, and from both sides – There are said to be companies that give gamers and YouTubers free game keys and other incentives if they report positively about the game. Likewise, it is also often heard of gamers and YouTubers who ask developer studios for free games in exchange for writing a positive review. The developers of the MMORPG Divergence Online vehemently oppose these methods.
No free games for “wannabe PewDiePies”
In an open letter, the developers address the community and explain that the requests for free game access in exchange for a positive review must stop. All such requests will be ignored. Anyone who asks multiple times will end up on a list of people who should not be trusted regarding reviews, as they can be “bought”. This list will then be published.
They express their disregard for “wannabe PewDiePies” who think they should get everything with a few YouTube subscribers. They only support those individuals who have genuinely contributed to the development of the game, such as by purchasing the game.
Anyone wanting to know if the MMORPG Divergence Online can truly live up to its reputation of being a spiritual successor to the cult MMO Star Wars Galaxies, can now participate in the Early Access on Steam. But don’t forget: Buy the game and do not ask for free access.
Moreover, the current reviews on Steam present a rather mixed picture of the game. Many believe that it is completely unfinished even for an Early Access game.
