Distance challenge on April 23rd – The rewards
The tasks: As quests, it is quite easy for you, because for each quest you should walk one kilometer. In total, you should move 5 kilometers.
- Task: Walk 1 kilometer
- Reward: Encounter with Kikugi*
- Task: Walk 2 kilometers
- Reward: Encounter with Kikugi*
- Task: Walk 3 kilometers
- Reward: Encounter with Kikugi*
- Task: Walk 4 kilometers
- Reward: Encounter with Kikugi*
- Task: Walk 5 kilometers
- Reward: Encounter with Kikugi*
Total reward: If you complete all 5 tasks and claim the rewards, then you will additionally receive 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and another encounter with Kikugi.
This is important: Since the start of the environment week in Pokémon GO, you can encounter Kikugi as shiny. Use the distance challenge to challenge your shiny luck. Additionally, Niantic will plant a tree for every trainer who walks 5 kilometers during the event (up to a maximum of 100,000 trees).
The task was announced as part of the environment week, in which Niantic wants to raise more awareness for nature. This is coupled with encounters with Kikugi and therefore chances for one of the latest shinies.
As trainers report, you can also complete the 5 kilometers at once and then collect all tasks at the same time. So there are no artificial stops in between.
How do you like the challenge? Do you think it’s good that Niantic wants to encourage you to move, or does the attempt fall flat for you? A compensation event for the broken Owei spectacle is starting soon – but not for everyone.
