New Information About the Highly Anticipated Space MMO
Here’s what’s new: Cloud Imperium Games talked about the very successful funding of the space MMO. So far, $195 million has been raised from 2.1 million “backers”.
Furthermore, the team presented new features of Alpha 3.3:
- FoIP – “Face over IP” – With this webcam feature, you can transfer your facial expressions to your in-game avatar’s face to show emotions while playing
- FPS AI – In various places within the game, you will now encounter AI enemies. You defeat these in the first-person shooter part Star Marine
- Object Container Streaming – This background technology improves performance in the game. It controls how much of the universe needs to be loaded by the computer’s CPU. Testers report that this has improved game performance by about 100 percent
Additionally, the developers showed new ships:
- Aegis Hammerhead – The fast and well-armed ship is mainly used for escort and patrol flights
- Anvil Valkyrie – A dropship that can quickly drop troops or vehicles on the surface of a planet
Drake Interplanetary – Kraken – A flying fortress. This capital ship serves as a protector and a harbinger of hope in a dark universe
Consolidated Outland – Mustang – The reimagining of an agile and well-armed ship suitable for many operational purposes
Besides that, Cloud Imperium also presented the luxury ship RSI Constellation Phoenix, four variations of the ground vehicle Tumbril Cyclone, and the assault rifle Kastak Arms Karna.
