9. Aziz Ansari as Ed

Appearances: 4 episodes in season 8 (episode 1, 2, 5, 8) | Known from: Good Fortune (2025), Master of None (2015 – 2021), Parks and Recreation (2009-2015, 2020).
Aziz Ansari plays the resident doctor Ed in season 8, who puts Dr. Cox to a tough test. He is a lazy guy who prefers to listen to audiobooks instead of paying attention during rounds and prefers to focus on other things instead of studying.
But he is also one of the best at first. That is the dilemma for Dr. Cox, who later realizes that he absolutely hates Ed’s laziness. Despite his initial good knowledge, his laziness catches up with him, and Dr. Cox gives him a task, but Ed does nothing, and Dr. Cox, who has by now become the chief physician, fires him.
The residents in Scrubs were usually portrayed as insecure, overly ambitious, or too incompetent, but Ed is something special. He has the potential to become a very good doctor, but he is lazy and seems uninterested. This is in stark contrast to Dr. Cox, who despite his many mean actions has never met such a resident and realizes that he cannot help him.
