Outlook: Borderlands 3 – eagerly awaited
What is it? Borderlands 3 is the yet-to-be-announced next Borderlands game from Gearbox, which is expected to contain stronger online elements than previous titles in the series. However, it should also make solo players happy.
What Destiny need will it satisfy? One can assume: almost all of them, if Gearbox gets the gameplay right. Borderlands is the progenitor of loot shooters and has a knack for excellent world-building with fanatical and fantastic characters.
How will Borderlands 3 benefit from Destiny? Borderlands 3 is highly anticipated by all who are disappointed with Destiny. There is a lot of potential for it to become the next “big” game. Overall, many feel it can’t be that hard to get right what Destiny got wrong. Among the candidates, most likely trust Borderlands 3 to get it right.
Destiny has changed the gaming world, but there is still no true replacement
Destiny played a significant role in changing the culture and tastes of players on PS4 and Xbox One. While in 2014 there were still major questions about whether console players would embrace such lifestyle games, today this is no longer an issue. Destiny has set a trend.
Through Destiny, many players have come into contact with such a pseudo-MMO, a lifestyle game, and want more.
However, Destiny only had such immense success due to its excellent shooter mechanics. That captured players where they were. In this niche, nothing promises the full Destiny experience yet. However, grind, adventure, friends, and loot can be found in many games.
The tremendous success of games like Monster Hunter World, where many Destiny veterans gather, now shows that players are willing to adapt.
