TERA – suddenly hot
What is it? TERA is an action MMORPG from 2011 with a unique graphic style and one of the best combat systems in the genre. It is finally set to debut on PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.
What Destiny need does it satisfy? TERA combines action with the hunt for loot and battling huge monsters. Compared to ESO, it is the action variant of a lifestyle game.
How does TERA benefit from Destiny? The culture has changed with Destiny so much that TERA is now a topic for console players in 2018. Perhaps TERA would not have even been released on PS4 and Xbox One so late in its lifecycle if Destiny had not set off this wave that changed players’ tastes. Now console players know Destiny and see TERA as an attractive action MMORPG. Without Destiny, they might view it as “WoW light” and be put off. At least the desire to check out such a game is clearly felt.
