What happened? For about 3 weeks, rumors have been circulating that the Netflix channel is planning an animated TV series based on the cult game series Diablo. These rumors have now gained new traction.
Screenwriter confirms negotiations: As reported by Inven, screenwriter Andrew Cosby has confirmed in a series of tweets that he is in “final talks” with Netflix to lead a new animated series about Diablo. He is doing this for Activision and Netflix. He is very excited and prays to the “High Heavens” that the project goes through.
If the project comes to fruition, he would write for the series and work as a “showrunner.” In American TV production, a “showrunner” is the person primarily responsible for a series, overseeing the plot lines and determining the narrative direction.
Diablo would undoubtedly be Rated R on Netflix
The new information: Cosby says that if the series does come, it will undoubtedly receive an “R” rating. This corresponds to a “NC-17” classification. It is intended for “not without adult supervision.”
