To get the MMO back on track, servers were merged in Diablo Immortal – globally, except in Europe. The reason is still unclear, but this means players here currently lack access to an event directly related to the merge, which offers significant rewards.
What happened in Diablo Immortal?
- Since the mobile MMO’s release in June 2022, Diablo Immortal has faced significant criticism. Nevertheless, the game has been hugely successful and has attracted millions of players worldwide.
- Diablo Immortal regularly provides players with events, battle passes, and extensive content updates to keep players engaged. However, it seems that many players disappeared after the initial hype, leaving servers empty.
- To revive the game and to save “dead servers,” the developers conducted server mergers on November 9.
What kind of event is this? Immediately following the server merges, the Festival of Dawn started in all affected regions. The event lasts for 12 days from the time of the merge, so until November 21 here.
In various tasks, the entire server works together to unlock milestones and special rewards:
- increased magic find for all at corresponding levels (up to +15 %)
- gold, materials, legendary emblems, and random legendaries and set pieces, depending on your participation
- an exclusive cosmetic portrait frame for the top of the event leaderboard
However, the event only occurs if servers have been merged, or there has been a server merge in the region. However, Europe is completely missing from the list of server merges by Blizzard. Here, there have been no mergers, nor do players have access to the event.
Legendary emblems are often a reward or compensation in Diablo Immortal. They are important for the coveted legendary gems:

Why are there no transfers here? Although a time for European servers is indicated, no servers have been merged here. The YouTuber and Diablo Immortal expert DM: Diablo Immortal has provided two explanations (via YouTube):
- European servers will be merged at a later point and currently face technical difficulties
- the European servers do not need a merge at all, as each server has enough players to ensure a healthy interaction
That Blizzard simply forgot all European players is considered quite unlikely. Especially in Germany, Diablo Immortal is a huge financial success, which is why functional servers are likely important to Blizzard.
Update: We now know that a merger of the EU servers is also planned. On November 23, after maintenance, merges are set to occur. The servers El’Druin, Tabri, Zolthrax, and Qual-Kehk will be merged. The event is set to start immediately afterward.
What is the problem with the transfers? After the transfers, clans were completely dissolved due to a bug. As some players report, it is partly even impossible to reform the clans (via reddit).
The developers provided players with compensation, however, fans felt “offended” by this. Through in-game mail, they received two legendary emblems, one legendary item, crafting materials, and 6 normal gems, along with the note: “I advise you and your team to gather again to save Sanctuary.”
According to some players, no compensation would have been better than this, although the free item apparently represented a considerable improvement for some. Recently, however, there has been ongoing conflict between active players and the studio behind Diablo Immortal:
