The mobile MMO “Diablo Immortal” by Blizzard has raised the requirements for what a smartphone must be able to do in order to play the game in the soon-to-start beta tests. The beta will initially only run on certain smartphones to ensure they work, according to Blizzard.
This has changed: On December 3rd, Blizzard updated the information on Google Play regarding the app “Diablo Immortal”.
Immediately, some players noticed: My smartphone can no longer load the game.
The message “Your Device isn’t compatible with this version” was introduced. This means: Players could no longer register for the beta that is set to start soon.
This puzzled players, as even relatively new phones like a Samsung Galaxy S8 from 2017 were no longer sufficient for Diablo Immortal.
Number of systems for Diablo Immortal is being limited
What Blizzard says: Over reddit a Blizzard employee, PazRadar, spoke up over the weekend. He explained the change:
- The minimum system requirements for Diablo Immortal have been increased since they were introduced in 2019.
- The requirements have been raised so that players can enjoy the best possible experience in Diablo Immortal. Therefore, only systems that they want to test thoroughly are now allowed.
- Blizzard does not want to make promises, but it could be that the minimum system requirements for Diablo Immortal may be relaxed again.

There is currently no information on when Diablo Immortal will launch in the App Store and how compatible iPhones are with Diablo Immortal.
It certainly looks like the legendary question: “Don’t you guys have phones?” now has to be: “Don’t you guys have strong phones?”.
The announcement of Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon 2018 stirred up the emotions of the attending hardcore fans, who are mainly on PC.
