Platinum is a premium currency in Diablo Immortal, which you can acquire through real-money purchases, but can also be earned without spending money. In return, you receive Legendary Gems, create a clan, or craft powerful spells for your build. We’ll show you how to acquire Platinum and what you can spend it on at MeinMMO.
Diablo Immortal essentially revolves around three currencies:
- Gold – Found everywhere in the world
- Platinum – Real-money shop, market, quests
- Eternal Orbs – Pure real-money currency
In this article, we will focus on the currency “Platinum”. You’ll learn where to acquire this currency, how to farm it, and what opportunities Platinum provides you to become stronger. You can use it to buy and upgrade Legendary Gems.
More about the Legendary Gems can be found in our video:
Diablo Immortal: How to get Platinum – Real money, market, quests
Platinum is a kind of semi-premium currency. You can buy it with real money, but you can also earn it in the game. We describe three sources:
- Buy for real money in the shop
- Earn through daily rewards
- Speculation in the player market
Buy for real money in the shop: Through the route of “Eternal Orbs,” Platinum can be purchased in Diablo Immortal.
- 500 Platinum for 50 Eternal Orbs
- around 1 Euro
- 5,000 Platinum for 500 Eternal Orbs
- around 9 Euros
- 50,000 Platinum for 5,000 Eternal Orbs
- around 70 Euros
Go to the in-game shop under “Currencies,” and on the bottom right, you can choose between Eternal Orbs and Platinum.
Earn through daily rewards: Platinum is part of the “Rewards for Daily Activity.” You can find it in your codex under “Battle Pass” in the menu point “Activities.”
If you earn 120 combat points in one day, your Platinum balance will increase by 300. Combat points are the progress points for the Battle Pass.
Speculation in the player market: When you engage with the player market, Platinum is the most important currency. All transactions are conducted with this currency.
There are three types of items that can be traded here:
- Legendary Gems
- Normal Gems
- Skill Stones
If you have a Legendary Gem you don’t need, you should always weigh carefully: Will you use it to enhance other stones or sell it on the market?
However, not all gems can be sold on the market. If you receive a Normal or Legendary Gem from an Elder Portal and used a free Rare or Legendary Emblem in the process, then the gem is not tradeable.
You can identify the tradeability by a small symbol on the image of the gem:
Here begins the speculation: Shortly after release, there are many suppliers and demanders – the price is likely to be somewhat higher and should gradually fall. However, in the long term, there could also be a shortage of gems, which would drive prices up.
You must decide for yourself whether you want to list immediately or wait. You should not trade Normal Gems while you can still enhance them.
Farming Platinum: A lot of potential for speculators
Trader tip for Platinum: Interesting for speculators are also the spells. From spells, you can extract Skill Stones that can also be sold. For that, find the merchant “Spellmaker” in Westmark.
Every found spell can be upgraded here with the material “Alchemical Powder.” You obtain the material from disassembled spells.
With each upgrade, a random skill bonus is added. This bonus is not limited to your class. It can be a bonus for any skill from any class.
Once the spell is at Rank 5, you can extract a Skill Stone from it. This costs 500 Platinum. The stone, in turn, can be sold on the market for good Platinum.
If you do not want to keep the spell, then sell it. For that, monitor the prices at the market on your server. At the time of writing, the prices on the El’Druin server looked like this:
- Market prices for Skill Stones
- 1 skill for a class: 1,000 Platinum
- 2 skills for a class: 1,500 Platinum
- 3 skills for a class: 2,000 Platinum
If you want to engage in speculation on the market, then regularly visit the “Hilt Trader” in Westmark. Here you can obtain daily spells in exchange for Hilt, which you can either convert or upgrade.
Diablo Immortal: Spending Platinum – Market, Clan, Spells & Gems
Spending is always easier than earning. Here are the things you can do with Platinum:
- Purchases on the market
- Buy Echo Crystals
- Create a clan
- Create Skill Stones
Purchases on the market: If you want to acquire Normal or Legendary Gems on the market, you need Platinum in your pocket. Nothing works on the player market without it.
Buy Echo Crystals: The “Crystal Trader” is in the building with the gem crafters and sells you Echo Crystals for 500 Platinum. With the crystals, you can upgrade Normal Gems beyond Rank 5.
Create Skill Stones: As mentioned above, you need 500 Platinum to extract a Skill Stone from a Rank 5 spell. You can sell the stone on the market or apply it to another Rank 5 spell to transfer the right bonus with a bit of luck.
Create a clan: In Diablo Immortal, you can create a clan for 3,000 Platinum, accommodating up to 100 members. Be cautious if you want to join the Shadows and have created a clan beforehand. This can kick you out of the clan, and the precious metal is gone.
If you really immerse yourself in the Platinum trading, you can earn a lot of currency here and gain access to the strongest Legendary Gems. However, this is speculative business, and you need to weigh and calculate.
