The distribution of attributes
What attributes are important for the Demon Hunter? For the Demon Hunter, you should use equipment with strength if you want to maximize damage. Strength is the most important primary attribute of the crossbow shooter, as it grants +0.3 additional damage per point.
Bravery increases armor penetration by +0.1, thus increasing the damage of critical hits. This is particularly beneficial if you have a high chance of critical hits. Increased vitality, in turn, means more health, which can be particularly advantageous in the endgame or PvP.
Willpower is currently of rather low significance, though according to theorycrafter Dredscythe, this may change in the future. Willpower increases potential by +0.1, thus increasing the duration of harmful effects your enemies suffer. Additionally, willpower raises your resistance by +0.1, reducing the duration of harmful effects that enemies inflict upon you.
The worst primary attribute of the Demon Hunter is intelligence. Intelligence only increases combat rating by +1 and does not provide any other bonuses.
- Strength: +1 combat rating and +0.3 damage
- Bravery: +1 combat rating, +0.1 armor, and +0.1 armor penetration
- Vitality: +1 combat rating and +3 health

The abilities
What are the best abilities of the Demon Hunter? The crossbow-firing Demon Hunter has a range of different attacks with high single-target damage as well as some AoE skills. We at MeinMMO show you the four abilities that have proven to be the most useful or strongest at the moment:
- Multi-Shot
- The multi-shot fires a volley of arrows that deals damage to all enemies in one direction.
- Vengeance Rain
- You fire a massive volley of arrows into the air that rains down for several seconds, dealing damage to all enemies in the area for the duration of the attack.
- Daring Swing
- You swing on a rope to a nearby location, dealing damage to enemies along the way. You are invulnerable during the execution of the ability.
- Vengeance
- When “Vengeance” is active, your primary attack fires additional shots for a certain number of seconds. Plus, your movement speed increases by 3% for each enemy nearby. This effect can stack up to 10 times.
The equipment
What set do we recommend? To increase the damage of your crossbow shot, you should equip the War Vest of Shal’baas.
If you have two pieces of the set, the damage of the crossbow shot increases by 15%. With four pieces, primary attacks increase your attack speed by up to a maximum of 25%, and with six pieces of the set, your crossbow shots have a 5% chance to increase your attack speed for 10 seconds, with this effect occurring only once every 30 seconds.

What equipment should you use? For the 6 slots of legendary equipment, you should use the following items and ideally awaken them in exactly this order:
- Off-Hand: The Devourer – The crossbow shot pierces enemies and also hits those behind them. As an awakened item, it additionally increases the damage of the crossbow shot by 10%.
- Chest: Heart of Vengeance – The cooldown of the ability ‘Vengeance’ is reduced by 15% and in the awakened state by another 10%.
- Head: Vision of the Lost – If you defeat enemies while the ability ‘Vengeance’ is active, each kill extends the duration by 0.2 seconds. The maximum extension is 2.4 seconds. If you awaken ‘the Vision of the Lost’, the cooldown of Vengeance is also reduced by 10%.
- Legs: Coe’s Unrelenting Rage – When the ability ‘Vengeance’ is active, every second primary attack causes an additional rocket to be fired. If you awaken the leg armor, it also reduces the cooldown of ‘Vengeance’ by 10%.
- Shoulders: Hailstone Shoulder Protection – The ability ‘Vengeance Rain’ is enhanced by this shoulder armor using frost, dealing damage to all enemies and chilling them. Additionally, the cooldown of Vengeance Rain is reduced by 10% when you awaken the shoulder protection.
- Main Hand: Flame Woe – The multi-shot now shoots fire arrows that deal damage and burn your enemies. If you awaken Flame Woe, the cooldown of the multi-shot is additionally reduced by 10%.
Normal & Legendary Gems
Which normal gems should you use?
- Turquoise: is better suited than Ruby, as damage is more important than health.
- Sapphire is better than Aquamarine, as armor penetration (damage on critical hits) is more important than armor.
- Citrine and Topaz are equal, as both potential and resistance are weak values for your build.
Which legendary gems should you start with? Legendary gems are one of your most important sources to significantly improve your equipment in Diablo Immortal. Here you can see which legendary gems are useful for the Demon Hunter.
- Eye of the Berserker: The Eye of the Berserker is a gem that grants you a glass cannon effect. The gem increases both the damage you deal and the damage you take. However, since the Demon Hunter is a ranged class, you can minimize the damage taken through your movement and take advantage of the distance to your enemies with additional damage.
- Endless Torments: The gem deals damage over time and can apply this effect with AoE attacks and the crossbow shot – which pierces enemies with ‘the Devourer’ and also hits foes behind them – to many enemies.
- Ca’arsen’s Empowerment: Ca’arsen’s Empowerment is a gem that works significantly better for the Demon Hunter than for other classes, as the ranged fighter nearly continuously utilizes his crossbow tamer, and the gem increases the speed of primary attacks.

Which legendary gems are recommended for the long term?
- Blood-soaked Jade: Increases the damage you deal and your movement speed.
- Dripping Gall: This gem allows your enemies to be poisoned and subsequently take damage from the poisoning. Additionally, affected enemies are slowed. The abilities of ‘Dripping Gall’ are particularly recommended in combination with your crossbow shot and the ability ‘Vengeance’.
- Petrified Flesh Shard: This gem has a chance to petrify a target, which can buy you critical time and keep you alive. Enemies can also be afflicted with a curse that causes an explosion when they are defeated.
- Call of the Howler can deal damage to players that are far in front of your character and hit multiple enemies when they are grouped together.
