Since the latest update, Magic Find in Diablo Immortal has a new description. Some players are convinced that the value has generally changed and is now even better than before.
What is this value? Magic Find is a value that you can only reliably increase in Diablo Immortal relatively late. The controversial legendary gems grant more Magic Find starting at rank 5, otherwise the main source for the value is your Paragon.
In the Diablo games, Magic Find traditionally increases your chance of receiving a rare or legendary item and even set pieces.
Diablo Immortal, however, has taken a different approach so far. At least that’s what the players are sure of. With the Update 1.5.2 from June 20, it seems that the way the value works has changed.
What has changed about Magic Find? Since the patch, Magic Find has a different description. When you open your character sheet and select the value, the info text has changed:
- Previously: “Increases the chance of receiving higher quality items from monsters.”
- Now: “Increases the chance that monsters drop magic, rare, or legendary items.”
Due to the previous description and tests, such as by players who completed 1,000 Rifts, suspicion has been raised that Magic Find actually only increases the quality of found items. So: if a Legendary would drop anyway, it has better or more stats.
Now, however, it is clear that the drop chance for Legendaries is actually increased. Whether this also applies to set pieces from dungeons is unclear. Fans are still debating whether it is actually a change or just a more precise formulation (via reddit).
If you want to increase Magic Find, your best option is upgrading legendary gems. Since Update 1.5.2, this is also easier, if you use your Expiring Sparks correctly. In the video, we reveal where you can obtain legendary gems and how they work:

What’s in the update: Essentially, the update reduces the Pay2Win factor as now more legendary emblems can be obtained per week and per month without having to pay for them. New events and tasks were also added to the game.

The biggest change was the new class switching feature. With this, you can now easily try out a new class if you don’t like your current one.

Overall, the update is received quite well, even regardless of the discussion about whether Magic Find has been improved or not. The consensus is: it doesn’t really make much of a difference anyway, as the drop chance is so low that it hardly makes an impact.
