In Diablo 4 there are bosses whose fights can be quite challenging. Particularly frustrating for some players in Season 4 is the fight against the “Echo of Lilith”.
With the unlocking of World Tier 4, you will receive the quest “Echo of Hatred” in Diablo 4. This requires you to fight Lilith – but not in the version you encounter as the final boss at the end of the campaign. Here you fight against her echo, the tougher version of the final boss: Uber Lilith.
Unlike the Uber boss Duriel, you don’t have to summon her; you can just visit and fight her in her arena. Since release, the fight against the Echo of Lilith has sparked discussions. With Season 4, the fight against her seems to be even more challenging. And players feel: The fight is not fun and actually isn’t worth it.
Why is the fight not fun? On Reddit, the user “Booraz149” posted a clip of the fight against Lilith on May 25. However, the boss is hardly visible in the one-minute video. “Booraz149” asks in the post: “So, uh… When is it my turn to attack again?”
Lilith’s attacks can wipe out the strongest builds. The player seems to be aware of this, as it is evident in the video how the character repeatedly dodges her attacks. However, not much else happens. Lilith herself is rarely seen – and she is only in the first phase there. The player in the video still had a lot ahead of them.
In the comment on Reddit, “Booraz149” notes that he killed Lilith after a few attempts. However, it was not a fun fight. Most of the time she performs her attacks, where he can’t inflict any damage on her. For him, the fight feels like an “action RPG without action.”
What is actually the biggest challenge? With Season 4, new endgame activities have come to Diablo 4, which are supposed to provide a new challenge for players. These include:
- the pit with its 200 difficulty levels (via Blizzard), where you get important crafting mats and “Stygian Stones” for the “Tormented Echoes”
- the “Tormented Echoes,” which are the “Level 200” versions of bosses, such as Duriel or Lord Zir
In another post in the Diablo 4 subreddit, players noted that the fight against Lilith feels as tough as against the “Tormented Echoes” – but is necessary for a “secret player title”:
One plays “Ring-a-Roses” against the boss
What do other players say about the boss fight? The comment with the most upvotes comes from “D4Junkie”. He writes on Reddit: “Such a terrible boss fight…”, and over 550 people seem to agree with him. “Xenolithium” notes in the comment that Lilith is more challenging with her level 100 than the new “Tormented” bosses with level 200.
Others note that the fight is simply not worth it. The only real reason to defeat her is the “Magnificent Spark” that you get the first time. The user “Darduel” summarizes his thoughts about it in the comment on Reddit:
My biggest criticism is that it is so hard with the oneshot mechanics and that she is the Uber version of the last boss in the game, but it is not worth it at all. She doesn’t drop any significant loot, so it makes more sense to literally farm any other boss than her. If she’s made unfairly hard, it should at least be worth the effort.
The user “Supadrumma4411” writes in the comment that one spends half the fights “playing ring-a-roses”. So it’s no wonder that so many players play necromancers. While one runs “around like a headless chicken,” the minions kill the boss.
Uber Lilith has long been criticized for not being a particularly fun fight. Either you have some crazy build that can wipe her out in seconds, or you have to struggle against her for minutes – like the user here. If you want to try your hand at the fight, here you can find the currently best builds in the Tier List for Season 4.
