When does Vessel of Hatred release? The first expansion for Diablo 4 will be released on October 8, 2024, and is available for pre-order through Battle.net, Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation. There is currently no new information about a beta, but reportedly it is already finished – just not officially yet.
Blizzard showcased the intro cinematic for Vessel of Hatred at the Xbox Showcase, featuring Neyrelle on her way to Kurast, the capital of the new area. Shortly after, Patch 1.4.2 went live and surprisingly introduced pets in Diablo 4. You can already equip them – and as soon as you pre-order the expansion, you’ll receive different skins for them, depending on the edition.
Vessel of Hatred – Contents of the Deluxe Edition
What’s included in the Deluxe Edition? The Deluxe Edition, priced at 59.99 euros, occupies the middle ground of the packages for Vessel of Hatred, and includes, in addition to the new expansion, a token for the premium battle pass, armor, and other cosmetics for Diablo 4:
- Expansion Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred
- Armor for Spiritborn: “Nahantu Veilwalker”
- Alkor, Snow Leopard Companion (pre-order bonus)
- Legendary Gem: “Mother’s Lament” for Diablo Immortal (pre-order bonus)

The cosmetics (except for the armor for Spiritborn) and the token for the premium battle pass will be available according to the description on Battle.net immediately after purchase. You can equip them right now and showcase them in Sanctuary.

What features does Vessel of Hatred include? The expansion brings not only cosmetic items and a new battle pass into the game but also new content for Diablo 4. There will be a new class, the Spiritborn. This was already speculated previously due to various leaks.
Additionally, a new region called “Nahantu” will be introduced in Diablo 4 – including new dungeons, outposts, and monsters. The campaign will continue, and we will search for Neyrelle in an ancient jungle.
The following features will also be added:
- You can recruit mercenaries who will assist you in battle with unique skills.
- There will be a new PvE co-op activity where you can team up in groups. It takes place in a diverse dungeon and rewards you.
- There are said to be new skills, additional paragon boards, legendary glyphs, new types of dungeons, extra activities, and rewards from the Whispering Tree.
Standard, Ultimate and a Newcomer Version
What other editions are there? In addition to the Deluxe Edition, there is a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition for Vessel of Hatred. The Standard Edition costs 39.99 euros and includes the expansion, the snow leopard companion “Alkor”, and the legendary gem for Diablo Immortal.
The Ultimate Edition is the most expensive option at 89.99 euros. It contains the contents of the Deluxe Edition and additionally 3,000 platinum, the tiger companion “Natalya”, the “Nahantu” armor package for five classes, cosmetic wings for your player character, and a Nahantu city portal. According to Battle.net, these items are unlocked directly in the game.

What if I don’t own Diablo 4 yet? Additionally, there is an expansion pack for Diablo 4 that includes the main game, the expansion, the snow leopard companion “Alkor”, and the legendary gem for Diablo Immortal. The package costs 69.99 euros on Battle.net and 79.99 euros on the Xbox store, suitable for those who want to dive deep into the game completely new.
