In Diablo 4 Season 3, the Senechal companion has been introduced. You should upgrade this within the seasonal quest “Drums of the Vault”, but the quest is currently causing issues. On MeinMMO, you can find out how to solve this.
The main feature of the new season in Diablo 4 is a mechanical companion that you can enhance with various stones. You receive the Senechal at the beginning of the seasonal quest, shortly after you are to enhance him at a fire bowl.
However, the “Drums of the Vault” quest is causing issues for some players, preventing them from completing it. You simply cannot interact with the quest item.

How to complete the quest “Drums of the Vault”
After you have completed the quest “A Stolen Body, A Created Body”, you should talk to the NPC Ayuzhan in the Hall of Torment. Once there, you will receive the task to enhance your Senechal at the fire bowl.
What is the problem? Some players report that they cannot click the Senechal fire bowl at all, which prevents them from completing the seasonal quest.
How do I solve the problem? The current solution is to enter another instance. This means you basically need to reload the area. You have the following options:
- teleport from one waypoint to another
- leave the Hall of Torment through the entrance/exit
- enter another dungeon and complete it
- log back into the game – however, this may not always help, as you cannot guarantee entering a new instance
Simply using the city portal does not work, as it does not change the instance. You must be the waypoint.
Other possible solutions:
- disable crossplay
- change the world tier
- completely exit the game and log back in
Blizzard is already aware of the problem, as community manager Marcus Kretz stated on X, formerly Twitter. Kretz also suggests as another alternative to log into an Eternal character and then switch back to your seasonal character.
They are working on the problem, but until it is fixed, one should rely on the workarounds.
