The biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch is known to always find something to complain about, especially about Diablo 4. He actually thought he was done with the game. Now he wants to give Diablo 4 another chance, despite many criticisms.
- Asmongold criticizes the endgame of Diablo 4. Especially the repetition of gathering tasks and the need to raise reputation again in the seasons is seen as problematic by the MMORPG streamer.
- On July 24, Asmongold stated that he was “done” with Diablo 4 and didn’t want to play anymore. An elite enemy had hit him so hard that he closed the game in a huff after his character had died multiple times.
- In a stream on July 27, Asmongold criticizes the feature in Diablo 4 that is supposed to provide more money from sales to merchants.
- In the stream from July 29, Asmongold watches the Campfire Chat with the developers of Diablo 4 and notes: “The problems that players had were addressed directly, and that is good.”
“I expected a damn disaster, and I was wrong”
Why is Asmongold giving the game another chance? In the latest Campfire Chat stream the developers spoke about patch 1.1.1. This will bring many positive changes to Diablo 4 – Asmongold had to admit this recently.
Together with his viewers, he watches the Campfire Chat on July 29 on Twitch. Afterwards, he finds positive words and notes that he will give Diablo 4 another chance. In his stream on Twitch, he expresses himself starting at 02:12:10:
It was actually really good. I’ll be honest. I think that was … yes, many people say “W”, yes, people are happy. If they keep making updates like this, then I think, you know … […] Yes, that’s great. I’m happy and I will give the game another chance, I will see how things develop and how things have proven themselves.
[…] I’m a reasonable person. And when I see positive changes, I’m positive, when I don’t see positive changes, I’m negative. That’s how I see it. […] I hate to say it, but to be honest, that was actually much better than what I expected.
I expected it to be a damn disaster, and I was wrong. […] The problems that players had were directly addressed, and that is good.

“The game is a joke”
What was Asmongold’s criticism? Asmongold recently criticized the feature that is supposed to bring players more money when selling to merchants. Instead, the feature, the so-called blessing, raises the costs of enchanting items with merchants in Diablo 4.
He reacts to a video from the streamer DatModz, who illustrates the problem with an example. Before DatModz had activated the blessing, enchanting cost 7.4 million gold. After he increased the blessing to 10%, the costs rose to 8.0 million gold.
Asmongold says, “The people responsible for this game should be ashamed. This is a joke! This game is a joke. There are so many things that are poorly programmed and just poorly designed that… how can one fail in so many enormous and massive ways at their job? Like, for example, that one of the main values in the game doesn’t even work. The costs increase when you buy something that is supposed to reduce costs.” (via Twitch).
We also tested enchanting with and without blessing:
A change to the feature would be quite sensible and necessary, because disabling the blessing every time you want to enchant items can become quite expensive in the long run.
It is possible to redistribute the blessing, however, the costs for redistribution increase with each redistribution of the levels. First, you pay a few hundred gold for redistributing the blessing. After I refunded and redistributed my 3 points twice, redistributing it again would now cost me 300,000 gold. But only for the first blessing point, after that it will certainly increase even more.
By the way, when the Campfire Chat was over, Asmongold played Diablo 4 and walked through a dungeon. After just 10 minutes, his game crashed. He then started Remnant 2 in silence.
The new co-op shooter seems to be a good option if you need a break from Diablo 4. MyMMO editor Benedict says Remnant 2 is exactly the game you should play during such breaks if you’re looking for a similar thrill:
