What are the best classes in Patch 1.1.3? With Season 1, a lot has changed in the balance, there have been many buffs and also some nerfs. Sorcerers are currently the weakest overall, while all other classes have at least one S or A-tier build.
Who creates the tier list? We base our data on the tier list from maxroll.gg, where the list is created with tests and mathematics. The data is backed by experts Rob, Wudijo, Northwar, Facefoot, Raxxanterax, and Chewignom.
The basis is the strength of the classes in the endgame, where all activities in the endgame are taken into account and not just the increasingly difficult Nightmare Dungeons. You will find the tier list here in a short overview and below all classes with the best builds for solo gameplay in detail. There are links to recreate and tips for leveling the class.
What does “S” to “F” mean? The tier list categorizes builds in a semi-alphabetical order, with S at the top and subsequently descending A-F. None of the builds are really bad, but the higher a build is ranked, the stronger it is compared to others.
Specifically, this means: You progress more easily with a build in a higher tier than with one in a lower tier. Still, it’s best to choose a class and build that fits your playstyle best and use the list as a guide if you want to improve.
The best Barbarian builds in the endgame
A-Tier: Whirlwind Barbarian
Whirlwind has been one of the most popular and best builds in Diablo for ages. You slash through enemies like a steel tornado and heal yourself in the process. Perfect for any content and apparently still strong even after the big nerf. Suitable for solo and groups.
B-Tier: Hammer Barbarian
Hammer of the Ancients (short: HotA for “Hammer of the Ancients”) is based on high area damage and battle cries. You are even a formidable tank for your group.
B-Tier: Rending Barbarian

With Rending, Barbarians have some of the highest single target damage and are therefore true boss killers. However, you need good positioning and thus more experience than with Whirlwind. Strong for experienced solo players.
