Season 2 for Diablo 4 starts on October 17 and brings a lot of groundbreaking changes. The season is all about vampires and introduces 22 new vampire powers for your character, which we present to you here.
What are vampire powers? The 22 vampire powers are the Season 2 equivalent of the 32 malevolent hearts from Season 1. They are not class-specific and change how the class you are playing functions. This results in even more possibilities for new class builds.

Unlocking the vampire powers: Resources and requirements
How do I unlock the vampire powers? To obtain your vampire powers, you simply need to defeat boss enemies. They will then drop the new resource “Potent Blood”. You use this in the character menu to unlock random vampire abilities.
You can unlock more abilities by pursuing the new seasonal questline and participating in the new event zone “Blood Harvest”.
What are the requirements? To use the unlocked abilities, your character must wear what is called “Pact Armor”: Pact Armor. This comes with three different pacts to choose from.
- Ferocity
- Divinity
- Eternity
For your abilities, you must always have certain levels of a specific pact equipped or activated. To ensure you have the correct levels, you can use so-called “Standalone Pacts” and “Cleansing Acids”. This allows you to remove and add specific pacts from your armor.
