Today marks the start of the beta for Diablo 4. MeinMMO is live covering the launch, but our colleagues are also present – including Maurice Weber from GameStar. You can watch Germany’s most well-known Diablo journalist on Twitch as he slaughters through the enemies. We spoke with him.
Who is the journalist? Our colleague Maurice Weber started as an editor at GameStar and is now a Twitch streamer with his own channel. Over the years at GameStar, he has made a name for himself among strategy enthusiasts.
Maurice is known for his easy-going style and his love for Diablo. He is considered by many in Germany to be one of the greatest experts on the Diablo series, especially regarding his favorite class: the Necromancer.
Together with 3 other players, Maurice will stream live today at the start of the Diablo 4 beta at 4 PM, with the gameplay starting at 5 PM. You can watch Maurice on our joint channel MonstersAndExplosions on Twitch or on his own channel:

How Maurice plays the beta: In a brief conversation with Maurice, he revealed what he expects from the beta and how he plans to approach the game. There are a few tips on how to best slice through the enemies:
I am a lazy sack and would therefore play Necromancer and let my minions do all the work… but Blizzard, unfortunately, denies me that. That’s why I fell back to the next best thing in the press beta: Lightning Sorceress with as many Static Charges as possible!
Zap away all enemies in the vicinity without having to do much myself, that was exactly to my taste! The best builds are, after all, those where so much is happening on screen that the enemy doesn’t even know what hit him. At the start of the beta, I am also very excited about the Hunter – I couldn’t play her myself in the short press beta.

We also asked Maurice for his expert opinion on the best class. We had already tried to answer which is the best class in Diablo 4 for you.
Maurice has a very clear opinion on this:
The best role-playing class of all time has always been the Diablo Necromancer. And as everyone knows, it is thanks to me alone that he returns in Diablo 4! I was the one who told the chief developer of the game face-to-face at the reveal at BlizzCon that he must not bring back the Necromancer with a shabby DLC like in part 3!
And how does Blizzard thank me for my selfless advice? They are bringing the Necromancer in the second weekend… when I am on vacation. On the other side of the world. In Tokyo. BUT that won’t stop me! The wonderful people from the Japan Tourism Office have actually organized me a streaming spot in a Japanese e-sports café! I WILL stream the Necromancer! No matter what it costs!
