The open beta of Diablo 4 has ended and left many fans feeling empty. They want more, finding everything else boring now. MeinMMO explains whether there are any further tests and when you can play again.
This was the beta:
- The open beta ran from March 17 to 20 for pre-order customers and from March 24 to 27 for everyone for free. The servers were shut down for the last time at 9:00 PM on March 27.
- You could create 10 characters and at the end play all 5 classes from Diablo 4, but only in the first area and up to level 25.
- Diablo 4 was extremely well received and there was only criticism in some areas. Over a million players participated just on the first weekend.
When is the next beta? According to current information, no further beta is planned. The open beta was already the stress test for the servers to identify problems and improve the release.

When can I play again? The official release of Diablo 4 is on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Those who pre-order one of the more expensive versions of Diablo 4 can even play 4 days earlier, on June 2.

Unlike the beta, you will find significantly more content in the finished game:
- the story continues in further acts
- you level up to level 100 instead of just 25, which should take over 180 hours
- far more dungeons, events, and quests are playable
- additional difficulty levels are available, not just World Tier 1 and 2
- certain enemies can drop “Uniques”, special legendary items
- the druid finally receives his special class mechanic
The world will also be significantly larger. In the open beta, you only saw about 20% of the map, with the release at least 4 more areas and dozens of additional dungeons added.
Blizzard uses the beta to improve technical aspects, but also for class balancing. Information on this is still missing. After release, Diablo 4 will be supplied with seasons and battle passes to bring new content. There will also be a store for cosmetics.
