Diablo 4 has successfully completed its Open Beta, and MeinMMO has taken an overview of which builds are on top after the big test.
Update from April 8th: We have adjusted the article, incorporating and updating Necro gameplay.
What will I find here? We present the best builds for each class that we have been able to test or confirm so far. Currently, only builds for level 25 are included, the max level for the recent Open Beta of Diablo 4.
For each build, you will find a short description of how the class plays, as well as a gameplay video to give you an impression of the playstyle. Talents, abilities, and legendaries in detail can be found in the linked guide.
The list will be expanded over time as we find more builds to present. If you are still unsure what you want to play, here is an overview of which class suits you best.
The best builds for the Barbarian
Bleeding Barbarian with self-healing
As a Barbarian, you rely on using different weapons. The bleeding build from MeinMMO editor Maik Schneider focuses on inflicting enemies with many stacks of the bleeding debuff.
You mow through a horde of enemies and let them bleed out slowly. For many enemies, it is enough just to wait and move on. You also heal yourself robustly in the process.
By the way: This is how you change weapons as a Barbarian. You can see what the build looks like here:
The best builds for the Druid
Werewolf Druid leading his own pack
As a Werewolf Druid, you command 3 additional werewolves and strengthen them with your abilities. With your buffs, you improve the wolves, poison enemies, and tear them apart as a pack.
The biggest advantages are that you continually heal yourself in the process and can hardly die, while also serving as a support for other players. You are well placed, especially in groups.
A major problem is that Druids are generally considered weak, but the build makes them quite playable. You can see the gameplay here:
The best builds for the Huntress
Melee Huntress as an assassin
The Huntress is actually popular as a ranged fighter, but I had much more fun as a melee rogue during the test. The build fights with whirling blades and a lot of agility.
You dance around groups of enemies, dodging all attacks and eliminating opponents with flying knives and shadow magic. Your greatest strength is the mobility with which you fly across the battlefield.
The build does have some problems with bosses, but I was able to kill the world boss Ashava with it without dying:
The best builds for the Necromancer
1-button Necromancer with blood mist
Necromancers often play with skeletons as servants. However, the blood mist build only uses one ability to wipe out entire hordes of enemies, and companions are more of a nice addition.
While you do not have to do much to succeed with the build, you do need a specific legendary; without it, the build simply does not work. However, you can keep yourself alive against any enemy with it.
Here you will find classic Necro gameplay with skeletons and corpse explosions. Here is what the build looks like without the special legendary:
The best builds for the Sorceress
Frost Sorceress that kills everything in seconds
The Frost Sorceress uses ice spikes to shred enemies. It utilizes the ability not just for itself but especially its passive effect through the special class mechanic of the Sorceress.
When you use other cooldowns, you summon more ice spikes on nearby enemies. This way, you can kill just about anything in seconds.
We unfortunately do not have our own gameplay for the build yet, but you can find the build in action from YouTuber positron1223 here:
Lightning Sorceress for bosses and leveling
The Lightning Sorceress is weaker against large masses of enemies but can effectively combat smaller groups and single targets. Additionally, no enemy can ever get too close to you thanks to the crackling sparks.
The big advantage is that you rarely have to stand still. You are constantly on the move, gathering sparks while your lightning spells chase and kill enemies. Furthermore, you hardly need legendaries for the build to work.
MeinMMO video producer Anna Alberg conquered a fortress solo with the build:
Do you have a favorite build? Feel free to leave us a comment on how you like to play your class.
Many of the builds require specific legendaries to function or to support the playstyle. If you still want to farm and didn’t catch Ashava, here are some new spots for items that are particularly easy and quick:
