What can the class do? The Spiritborn was introduced with the Vessel of Hatred expansion in Diablo 4 and has emerged as the strongest class at release. The Spiritborn are ultimate predators from the jungles of Nahantu. They also have a connection to the “Spirit Guardians” and can call them to use their skills.

These spirits you choose: The spirits represent the special class mechanic of the Spiritborn. You receive the class quest at level 15. After that, you choose the spirit in the “Hall of Spirits” to which you pledge loyalty, granting you a special bonus for the character as a whole, but also for all skills. For a second bonus, you select another spirit.
- 1st Spirit: Eagle
- 2nd Spirit: Jaguar
With the Eagle as the first spirit, you receive a bonus to your movement speed. Additionally, you hurl storm feathers and make enemies vulnerable when you escape. All your skills are now also Eagle skills. The Jaguar spirit increases your ferocity.

Level Build for the Spiritborn: Runes and Mercenaries
These runes are suitable for the build: You can insert runes into your gear with two sockets, such as in your weapon or helm. The best options are:
- PocQue: Summons Earthen Bulwark of the Druid, providing you with a barrier
- XolJah: Replaces your next escape with the Sorceress’ teleport, making you unstoppable
Good alternatives:
- Ohm: You invoke the Barbarian’s Warcry, increasing your damage
- Xal: You gain maximum life
- Wat: You gain Horrific Aging of the Necromancer to slow enemies and reduce their damage
- Mot: You gain Dark Veil of the Hunter
These mercenaries are suitable for the build: The mercenaries that came with Vessel of Hatred support you with healing and attacks in battles. There are a total of four different mercenaries that you will meet and unlock throughout the campaign.
For the build, we recommend Raheir as a mercenary and Varyana as a combat reinforcement:
- Raheir:
- Shield Charge: Deals damage, taunts enemies, and fortifies you
- Raheir’s Protection: Grants you armor
- Crater: Deals damage, pulls enemies in, and stuns them
- Call of the Ironwolf: Buffs your core skills
- Varyana:
- Earthbreaker: Deals massive damage and repeatedly slams enemies down
- Triggered when you use a skill in combat
Level Build for the Spiritborn: Gameplay
How does the build play? With the Spiked Salvo leveling build, you focus on Eagle skills and primarily attack from a distance. With your core skill, the Spiked Salvo, you fire feathers that spread out and pierce through enemies. Your skills and the Eagle spirit help you make enemies vulnerable and increase your movement speed.
With the “Bouncing Aspect,” the feathers of the Spiked Salvo explode on the enemy and return, dealing damage as well. “Devastator” serves as a source of damage and also buffs your life regeneration.
The “Raging Claw” skill grants you mobility in the early game. You quickly slice through enemies, dealing damage. “Sailing” is also one of your mobility skills, as it allows you to swing into the air, make enemies vulnerable, and dive down on them with an attack.
