In Diablo 4 there is a type of item that is highly sought after by players – the Uber-Uniques. They are powerful, but also extremely rare. So rare that players could hardly find them – until now. With Season 2, that has changed for the benefit of the community.
What was the problem with the Uber-Uniques? At the release of Diablo 4 and its first season, many struggled with the same problem: the RNG, as they were all looking for the Uber-Uniques.
Rare and powerful items that can be integrated into almost any build to turn your heroes into devastating forces. The problem, however, was the loot luck and the chance of obtaining one of these items. We occasionally reported on drops of the items to assure that they exist, but never in the quantity that players could be sure of ever getting one.
However, with Season 2, the luckless players have turned the tide, as fans can now farm Uniques intentionally with a special boss. An expert has undertaken a large test and shows how high your chances are, even if you shouldn’t play every day.

What was tested? The expert Rob2628, also known as the one who was often the first to push his character to level 100 in Diablo 4, undertook an experiment. He met with his colleagues in a four-person team and defeated “Duriel”, the boss that drops the Uber-Uniques up to 540 times.
His goal was to find out in what pattern the boss drops these rare items and came to the following conclusion:
- Duriel was defeated 540 times in a team of four players
- The chances amounted to 2160 possible drops (since four players were active)
- A total of 43 Uber-Uniques were dropped (total count in the team)
- Rob received as a Barbarian 10 Uber-Uniques
- 1x Andariel’s Visage
- 2x Harlequin’s Crown
- 4x The Grandfather
- 2x Doombring
- 1x Ring of the Starless Sky
- Rob received as a Barbarian 10 Uber-Uniques
What did Rob find out? According to him, he cannot exactly say how the system calculates the drops and whether there is a specific pattern, as RNG is involved. However, the fact is that his 540 attempts yielded him 10 Uber-Uniques. With Excel, he then calculated a percentage of 2% at which the chance of getting an Uber-Unique from Duriel lies.
So it is relatively low compared to the other drop rates of items, but still noticeably higher than at the release of Diablo 4.
That was all the information regarding the Uber-Uniques and their drops. Have you already got one, and if so, which? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
