Later in the story of Diablo 4, you unlock horses that allow you to move faster through the vast game world. A little trick lets you vary and significantly increase your speed.
In Diablo 4, especially in the endgame, everything is geared towards efficiency. You want to loot, level up, and slay enemies as quickly and efficiently as possible.
For quicker movement, you receive a mount in the form of a horse during the course of the acts. You can also customize the horse without spending money.
If you already have the horse, you may have noticed that the horse’s speed varies for no obvious reason. There is a simple trick behind this.

If the mouse cursor is too close to your character, the horse moves slower. Therefore, you need to move your mouse cursor as far away as possible from your character if you want to go faster – preferably in the direction you’re riding.
You also need to make sure that your cursor is not over your skill icons. This slows down your horse. You can also move the user interface to another corner in the options if you find it necessary.
Since this is likely a bug, it can be expected that future patches will keep the speed constant regardless of the mouse position. In the current patch notes, this has not yet been addressed.
This method works only on PC. On consoles, the speed should always be at maximum.
The mount is incredibly useful in a game like Diablo 4 when you want to play as efficiently as possible. The large open world has a lot to offer, and it’s certainly more pleasant to explore on horseback than on foot.
