The first weekend of the open beta of Diablo 4 is over. German players mainly missed one thing there: the complete localization. Now there is a new trailer that at least gives a preview of what to expect.
What was there to see in the beta?
- On March 17, the pre-order beta of Diablo 4 started with numerous problems and bugs.
- After the servers ran somewhat stable, hundreds of thousands were able to create their characters and play from Act 1 up to level 25.
- Anyone who played up to level 20 will even receive a cute wolf pup as a reward once the game is released.
What was missing in the beta: Although the entire campaign and all side quests from Act 1 were in the beta, there were only German translated texts for quests and items. The voice acting for all characters was still completely in English.
Blizzard had already announced in advance that localization would be one of the things that were not yet finished. However, there are finally the German voices of at least 2 of the most important characters to be heard.
In a new trailer for the open beta, mother superior Prava and the demon Lilith, the main antagonist of Diablo 4 can be heard in German for the first time:
Is Diablo 4 coming out in German?
The developers have already confirmed that Diablo 4 will be released in 13 different languages, including German. The localization is supposed to include texts and voiceovers, which are not yet finalized.
Accordingly, you will probably be able to hear the voices of Inarius and other important characters only later, but no later than the release of Diablo 4 on June 6, 2023.
The next beta weekend, where you can play from March 24-27, is not expected to include German voiceover yet. However, since at least Lilith and Prava already have some lines, it might happen that you can at least hear these two.
How do you find the voice of Lilith, the mother of Sanctuary?
