Only a few days left until the release of Diablo 4, and what better way to hype up the players than with a new gameplay trailer for all classes. Blizzard did just that, but instead of joy, criticism poured in, not for the gameplay, but for the music.
What is the problem? Blizzard released a new gameplay trailer for Diablo 4 on May 18. It showcases various classes in action and how they deal with hordes of monsters.
Despite the cool footage, many fans are questioning the choice of music in the comments on YouTube, as instead of metal or dark melodies, Billie Eilish is featured, a singer also known for the song “Bad Guy.”
“Of all the epic soundtracks you could choose from, you went with this … thing.”

What are the players saying? The vast majority of players cannot understand Blizzard’s choice of music at all. Diablo 4 is a dark and unforgiving game; they do not comprehend how the developers could think that this music was appropriate for such a hype trailer. Fans on YouTube had the following to say:
- “If you close your eyes, you would have thought that it’s the music for a generic battle royale and not for a dark adventure like Diablo.” – Random Gamer Babe

Despite the music, most fans are looking forward to Diablo 4. They can’t wait for the new hack & slash to finally celebrate its release.
When is the release? The official release of Diablo 4 will take place on June 6, 2023. However, if you have purchased the more expensive Deluxe or Ultimate Editions, you can even start four days earlier in Sanctuary and experience the story around the demon mama Lilith.
