The Rogue class for Diablo 4 was introduced by Blizzard. During BlizzCon 2021, the new character and first glimpses of the attacks and abilities were presented.
What can the Rogue do in Diablo 4? The Rogue is the fourth character that Blizzard introduced for the new Diablo 4. You play it with the primary attribute of dexterity. Veterans of the Diablo franchise are already familiar with the Rogue from Diablo 1. However, changes have been made here to appeal to fans of Assassins and Demon Hunters.
- The Rogue is fast and mobile

Rogue in Diablo 4: All information on abilities
This is how the Rogue plays: Blizzard provided an overview of the characteristics and a few abilities of the new class from Diablo 4. Generally, all classes are intended to remain as they are known from the franchise. However, the play styles have been partly revised and modernized.
As a “fast, mobile, and deadly” class, the Rogue is introduced. It is supposed to bring unparalleled versatility to battles. This works in both melee and ranged combat. Stabbing, shooting, and catching opponents in traps are part of the strategies used in combat.

What weapons do Rogues carry? At the current stage of development, Rogues carry a bow, a crossbow, daggers, or swords. You can equip 2 melee weapons and one ranged weapon simultaneously to utilize hybrid play styles. Carrying two additional melee weapons alongside the ranged weapon is strong for equipping two more legendary items.
What makes the Rogue special: Rogue players can choose from three specializations that can be switched at any time. However, switching comes with costs. How high these costs are remains unclear and will be defined later. Specializations are unlocked through quests.
The 3 specializations are:
- Combo Points – Provide another resource. The normal resource fills up quickly already. This play style with combo points is known from the Assassin in D2, or from WoW or HotS. The familiar system applies: With builders, you accumulate the points, and with spenders, you use them. The more combo points you build up, the more powerful the spenders become. This play style with combo points also exists in ranged combat.
- Exploit Weakness – Here your reflexes are tested. In combat with opponents, you find weaknesses that become visible. If you can quickly switch to these, you deal much more damage to the enemies. True to the motto “High Skill, High Reward”. Those who often miss should consider a different specialization.
- Shadow Roam – Plays almost like stealth. You disappear into the “Shadow Roam”. A few enemies can enter this Roam, but only a few. This is suitable for repositioning in or before combat.
With the ability “Imbue Weapon”, you can enhance your weapons. Choose “Frost” for more CC, “Poison” for extra DoT damage, or “Shadow” for more area damage.

What attributes do Rogues focus on? It is currently known that the intelligence attribute favors critical hits for a Rogue. However, this is still being tested and has not been set in stone for release.
For whom is the Rogue made? Those who loved the Rogue in Diablo 1 can feed their nostalgia feelings in the latest installment of the franchise. However, according to Blizzard, Demon Hunter and Assassin players may also recognize some tricks.
What do we already know about Diablo 4?
When is the release? The release date of Diablo 4 has not yet been announced. However, we know for sure that Diablo 4 will not be released in 2021, as Blizzard announced.
What classes will be available at release? It has been announced that there will be five classes that you can play directly at the release of Diablo 4. So far, the Druid, Barbarian, and Sorceress have been introduced. The Rogue is newly included.

How do items work? The focus of Diablo has always been on farming special items. However, the legendary equipment parts will be changed in Diablo IV.

This is what builds bring: The items are supposed to support your playstyle but not define it. There should be great freedom for players with builds. The skill system in Diablo 4 is supposed to allow complex builds. The skill trees are returning, where you can distribute points. You can actively use skills or place them in the enchantment slot, allowing the ability to be used differently.
