With Season 5, new content has arrived in Diablo 4 along with various ways to farm loot. A change to the reputation system allows you to grind even if you’ve already completed it.
On August 6th, Season 5 began in Diablo 4 and brought numerous changes to the uniques and new content for the endgame into the game. There’s also a reputation system, “The Gift of the Mother,” which resembles that of the Iron Wolves in Season 4.
Grinding reputation is a good way to obtain loot and materials – and at the final level, you can also get a “Magnificent Spark.” However, it seems that the grind does not end this time at the final level, because: A player has discovered that there are additional rewards after completion. This effectively makes the reward system “infinite. “
Reputation System Allows “Repeatable Reward”
What has changed? In Season 4, once you completed the final level of the reputation system, you were “done” with it. However, in Season 5, there is a way to continue grinding. In a post on Reddit, a player shows the “Repeatable Reward” in a screenshot.
This means: Even if you have completed all reputation levels, you can still secure items and materials through this. Perfect for everyone who enjoys grinding and can’t get enough of the system. We do not know at this point what items and materials the chest contains.
The chest with the infinity symbol apparently appears as soon as you have completed all 20 levels of the reputation system:
How is this received? In the comments under the Reddit post, the change is discussed by players. “blizzue” expresses his surprise that someone has already figured this out with “It’s DAY TWO!” And “Nigwyn” suggests: “They just need to add this to the XP bar after level 100, and we would have a pretty solid endgame foundation.”
User “ShawnyMcKnight” writes that he would be pleased if the chest contained materials for completing items. And another user writes on Reddit, “It would be amazing if there was a chance for a chest with a Magnificent Spark.”
How does the reputation system work? At the start of the season, you receive the new seasonal quest line “Of Lambs and Wolves.” As you progress in the quest, you unlock the reputation system, which you can then access in Zarbinzet at Istel.
To farm reputation, you collect “Gifts of the Mother” from elite enemies, hellflowers, champions, and bosses. The system has a total of 20 levels, which include various rewards, including seasonal side quests, hell compasses, (boss) materials, and items.
One way to collect the “Gifts of the Mother” is through the hell hordes. This is a new endgame activity in Season 5, available starting from world level 3. There, you fight against waves of monsters and three bosses to collect “Burning Ether.” With the ether, you secure rewards from which you can choose.
