After the first weeks in Season 4 of Diablo 4, many players enter the endgame and can explore the hardest content. However, many encounter a problem: enemies simply oneshot them. Some are bothered by this, others say: Just get better.
This is how Season 4 is received:
- Since May 14, Season 4 has been active in Diablo 4 and is received extremely well. Players and experts praise the changes and say: This is how Diablo 4 should have been from the beginning.
- Particularly well received are the changes to the Hell Flood and the improved item system. You can find all the information about the features of Season 4 in our overview.
- There were only a few points of criticism – for example, that the new Hell Floods are now too good as well as some bugs and minor issues. Now players are facing a bigger hurdle.
This is what players are currently complaining about: The big new endgame feature of Season 4 is “The Pit”, a new endless dungeon. The dungeon works roughly like a Greater Rift from Diablo 3:
- You open a portal to randomly generated areas with random enemies.
- Within 15 minutes you must kill enough monsters to summon a boss.
- If you succeed, there are great rewards, such as the important crafting materials for the new upgrade system. A lot of grinding is therefore mandatory.
The Pit has up to 200 levels, which become increasingly difficult. Enemies deal more damage, take more hits, everything becomes deadlier. Exactly this is currently annoying some players. They say: At a certain point, everything, or at least much, is just a “oneshot.” You die from just one hit.
On Reddit one player even goes so far as to say: “All the work, all your theorycrafting is for nothing. That’s why everyone is only looking for a broken game mechanic to exploit.”
It’s not even just particularly hard abilities that are the problem; at a certain level in the Pit, everything is simply a one-hit, even a basic projectile. Not even with full defense do you have a chance.
“Too hard, too easy, too grindy, too fast – decide already”
Players are exchanging views on how to best deal with such strong enemies. Some say: The best defense is a strong offense. If the enemies are dead, they can’t kill you anymore.
Only the bosses are still a problem – depending on build and class. And many abilities can simply be dodged. Here, practice is needed. Blizzard had previously warned that the Pit is supposed to be really tough.
That’s why there are also dissenting voices. A Reddit user writes: People should just decide. They wanted more challenge, now it’s too hard. Blizzard should best not care about such comments anymore, but choose a direction and stick to it. The constant back and forth helps no one.
However, players are relatively united in the view that the right build and the right handling of one’s class are key to getting better in Diablo 4. Some builds may have it easier, but after all, the Pit is supposed to be a challenge. You can find in our tier list the best builds for all classes in Season 4.
