In Diablo 4, fans have been able to play Season 4 on the test server for some time now. The players who reached level 100 there have now given their feedback on the endgame.
What is the PTR? To test Season 4 of Diablo 4, Blizzard opened the PTR. PTR stands for Player-Test-Realm and is a test server for the fans of the game to test the new season ahead of time and provide Blizzard with their feedback.
Some players reached the maximum level of 100 and have now publicly shared their feedback on the endgame after reaching the maximum level.

From level 100, the game changes for the worse
What happens after level 100? When the maximum level in Diablo 4 is reached, players can only improve their characters with new, better gear. At first, this may sound unproblematic, but the players on the test server quickly changed their gameplay behavior.
Instead of continuing to play the game normally, they ignored all useless enemies and went directly to the bosses.
Only the big bosses have a significant chance to drop items that represent an improvement for level 100 characters. From level 100, the players only ran from boss to boss, hoping to get better items. This likely isn’t very fun, and players felt compelled to publicly discuss improvements.
How could it get better? On Reddit, the post by SoManyOfThese created a stir. His post titled: “PTR Feedback: After level 100, the fun EXP grind is over. Reward paths would be a big and simple solution.” was well-received.
He suggested that the experience bar transforms into a rewards bar at level 100, serving as a display for earning an item. In plain language, this means that players should continue to collect experience points to be rewarded with an item upon leveling up.
How does the community react to the suggestion? Worldofbirdman finds the idea on Reddit good and writes: “That’s a great idea. Even if it’s just materials or something like that, it would be nice to have an incentive after 100. I really don’t want something like the D3 Paragon, where there is infinite power progression, but maybe Uber-boss materials or every fifth level a non-Uber unique.[…]”
GhyverKahn writes on Reddit: “I agree with material chests. I ALWAYS need Fiend Roses and Forgotten Souls.” Another user corrects him that there are no more Fiend Roses on the PTR, and the Forgotten Souls are quite easy to obtain, but material chests that would give Veiled Crystals would make sense.
Sinyr also provides feedback on Reddit regarding the endgame: “Yes, please. After reaching level 100, I find it frustrating that the most efficient strategy is to skip as many normal monsters as possible because they provide practically no rewards. This makes me get bored much faster[…]”
The test server of Diablo 4 was a full success, and the players provided a lot of feedback to Blizzard. However, the developers have kept some things under wraps to make Season 4 exciting for the testers: Diablo 4: You think you’ve seen everything from Season 4? The developers say they have kept something from you.
