The new Season 3 of Diablo 4 is finally playable. We take a look at the content and patch notes for you.
A new season in Diablo 4 means a new season theme along with some balance changes awaits you. At the same time, the current season ends shortly beforehand. We show you everything you need to know for the start.
When does Season 2 end? The end of Season 2 in Diablo 4 was on January 23 at around 7:00 PM German time.
When does Season 3 start? Season 3 of Diablo 4 started right on time at 7:00 PM on January 23.
What Happens in Season 3?
What’s new:
- New dungeon type “Vault”
- Robotic “Steward Companion” that can be customized by you
- Leaderboards in “The Challenge”
- Additionally gameplay improvements, almost permanently active hell surge events, and balance adjustments
Vaults in Diablo 4
What is this? Vaults are special dungeons whose powers were developed by Zoltun Kull and Ayuzhan. These dangers include “Constructs,” a new type of monster. There are several elemental types of them.
After entering a vault, you must exchange protection pearls to receive the blessing “Zoltun’s Protection.” This gives you access to the treasures in the vaults. However, this protection has a certain number of stacks which you lose gradually upon death.
If you still have Zoltun’s Protection active while defeating the vault boss, you will receive a wire-woven chest. Items from it have an increased chance to be legendary.
At World Tier III, you unlock Nightmare Vaults. They function similarly to Nightmare Dungeons.
Steward Companion
Here’s how it works: Through the seasonal quest line, you unlock your own Steward Companion. With stones, you can customize the companion to best fit your build. The companion will follow you after unlocking for the entire season. We’ll show you a closer look at how you can customize it here:
Leaderboards
When do the rankings come? With “The Challenge”, seasonal leaderboards are coming to you. However, they will not be available right from the start of the season but will be activated later on.
The lists rotate weekly. Anyone who can secure one of the top spots will be immortalized in the Hall of Ancestors.
Patch Notes
What is changing? Blizzard is bringing you some completely new items that all classes can wear. Among them are armored gloves that reflect damage. There will be adjustments to items and abilities for the different classes.
