In Diablo 4 Season 1 starts in just a few weeks, and if you think you shouldn’t prepare, you’re mistaken. We will show you 6 things you should do before the start of Season 1 so that you are well prepared for the release.
When does Season 1 start? Blizzard informed its fans about Season 1 in its last Dev Stream. It will take place on July 20, 2023, and is called “Season of the Treacherous”. Players will receive a new mechanic and be able to chase items. You can find more information about this in our overview.
Before the release, you still have enough time to prepare and secure advantages for yourself and your upcoming season hero. Therefore, we will show you 6 things you should do beforehand.
Did you miss the trailer for Season 1? No worries, here it is:
1. Uncover the complete map
Why should I do this? Blizzard has emphasized in its Dev Streams multiple times that your progress regarding the areas discovered on your map and your Reown will be transferred to your season heroes. So if you have a hero with such progress before the start of Season 1, you will only need to log in with it at the release of Season 1.
The system will then recognize your progress and save it account-wide on all upcoming heroes. This way, you will start with a fully visible map and a generous bonus in your stats.
2. Find all statues of Lilith
What does it bring me? The same game applies to the statues of Lilith as with the map. Once you have uncovered and activated all of them, the accumulated bonuses will apply to all heroes that you own on your account or will create in the future.
Thus, it is advantageous to collect these, as it gives your season hero a powerful boost that will help you in grinding to level 100. We have listed the locations of all statues along with a useful map in our overview.
3. Play up to Paragon
Why should I do this? Diablo 4 offers a basis for build crafting through its talent tree for each class, but the real work and the important fine-tuning begin with Paragon. Therefore, if you want to participate in the leaderboards when Season 1 starts, it would be beneficial to have already familiarized yourself with the system of Diablo 4.
If you don’t feel like building your own builds, we have compiled a suitable tier list with endgame builds in English that you can easily adopt:
4. Unlock your horse
Why is your horse important? Diablo 4 offers a vast world, and exploring it on foot can be a pain. For this reason, it is advisable to unlock your mount before the start of Season 1.
Your horse is tied to a quest that you can complete in Act 3. Once you have done that, your horse will be unlocked for all upcoming heroes, whether season or endless realm, so you can gallop off immediately.
5. Complete the campaign
What does it bring me? The story of Diablo 4 offers a lot of cool cutscenes and excitement, but not everyone is eager to replay the story at the start of the season. Therefore, it is advisable if you unlock the “Skip Story” feature. You can do this by having completed the story once on any character.
This way, you save yourself an unnecessary journey and can fully concentrate on the new content of Season 1.
6. Find all weapons and armor
Is this so important? You can’t take any equipment into the season realm, but here it’s much more about fashionable heroes. If you break down items at the blacksmith before the season, you can unlock new transmog options so you can shine with your cool gear from the very start. It’s not a must, but you also don’t want to defeat demons in shabby rags.
