Hunters are at the top of the tier list in Diablo 4. MeinMMO presents you with the currently best build for hunters, shows you the skill setup, what legendaries you need, and how to play the build.
What kind of build is this? Hunters are currently strongest when played in melee – meaning with daggers or swords, and not with bows. This build fully relies on Twisting Blades, which impale opponents.
Currently, this build is considered the build for hunters, ranks among the best builds in the tier list of Diablo 4, and generally outperforms most other classes in terms of speed and strength. However, you need a bit of know-how about the class.
- directly to the skills
- directly to the legendaries
- directly to the paragon
- directly to the gameplay
- the build originally comes from the expert team at maxroll.gg (in English)
What makes the build special: You continuously inflict vulnerability on opponents through your attacks, one of the two most important mechanics for every class. This makes you strong both solo and as a supporter for others in a group.
Thanks to your mobility, you can easily dodge almost any danger, preventing you from taking too much damage “face tanking” – that is, taking damage directly.
We tried the build already in beta. Today it has been perfected. You can see gameplay here:

Twisting Blades Build for Hunters – Gameplay and Tips
This is how to play the build: The core gameplay of the build relies on you drilling your twisting blades into a foe and then bringing as many opponents as possible between them and you:
- use twisting blades on an opponent, preferably a tough one
- make opponents vulnerable with the poison trap to trigger more multipliers
- move as far as possible with darting and shadow step and ensure opponents stand between the first enemy and you
- the returning blades kill everything in their path and around you afterwards if anything is still standing
- against single opponents and bosses, you just spam twisting blades
- you can apply infusions against stronger opponents to deal more damage
In relation to builds like the Blizzard Sorceress, you have very few control effects on opponents, so you rely on your mobility to avoid damage. Your self-healing is also significantly lower compared to the Whirlwind Barbarian’s. Armor is much more important for you than for other classes.
Generally, try to avoid as much damage as possible and take advantage of the fact that you will be constantly jumping around anyway. You are a skilled assassin, not a brutal brawler. Diablo 4 Guides: All tips, tricks, and builds in the overview
