In Diablo 4, there are dungeons that are hidden behind strongholds, which don’t appear on your map at first. You will notice this, among other things, when you try to activate Nightmare Dungeons using their seals and the notification “You do not have access yet” appears.
One of these is the Raunarbenhöhle. We summarize which stronghold you need to complete and how to find the dungeon afterwards.
While conquering strongholds, you gather XP – so don’t forget to activate an elixir. With a quest, you can even use two elixirs and stack the bonuses.
How to find the Rimescar Cavern / Raunarbenhöhle
Where can I find the Raunarbenhöhle? The dungeon “Raunarbenhöhle” is located in the area “Shard’s Peak”, east of Kyovashad. In that area, you will find the corresponding stronghold “Malnok”, which you need to occupy. Once you have conquered the stronghold, the dungeon “Raunarbenhöhle” will appear in that area.
How do I conquer the stronghold? Malnok is a frozen settlement where a snowstorm rages. When you enter the area, you will receive the task to look around. You then need to kill the Stormbringers of the Ice Clan, which will be marked on your map with skull symbols.
After you have killed the three Stormbringers, only the Champion of the Ice Clan awaits you in the middle. Once you have cleared him off the field, you can activate the “Shrine of the Wanderer” and thereby conquer the stronghold.
Why is it worth it? Strongholds are reset with each season, meaning you can conquer them repeatedly. By conquering a stronghold, you sometimes gain new waypoints that you can fast travel to, as well as 100 renown points in your regional progress.
In general, it’s worth completing the regional progress because: You receive important bonuses for each new character (in the same mode). Dungeons also grant you renown points.
