Raxxanterax is one of the well-known figures in the ARPG genre and in Diablo 4. Thousands of viewers on YouTube and Twitch regularly rely on his tips. Now the streamer says: Diablo 4 is not an option for him, at least not in the near future. He will now focus on Last Epoch.
Who is the player?
- Raxxanterax is currently ranked 3rd among the most-watched streamers of Diablo 4 on Twitch in the last 30 days (as of September 23, via sullygnome).
- The streamer is known primarily for his incredibly in-depth expertise. His assessments, for example, are significant for creating the Tier List of the best classes in Diablo 4.
- In Diablo, Raxxanterax has been a well-known pillar for years. For Diablo 3, he showed how to master the toughest content in a short time.
This is what Raxxanterax says about Diablo 4: In a new video on YouTube, Raxxanterax talks about his attitude towards Diablo 4. He says the game simply does not offer enough for players like him – for everyone who really wants to delve deeply into the content.
While one can grind up to level 100, after that, there is almost nothing to do in the endgame. Uber-Lilith is hardly a challenge anymore and nothing special, a Nightmare dungeon at level 100 is not either.
For casual players, Diablo 4 is certainly still excellent. Those who cannot or do not want to invest much time in the game will find value in the campaign and the grind up to level 70 or 80. After that, however, it’s over.
Raxxanterax believes that Diablo 4 needed another year of development. The base is good, but it just lacks content. Now he hopes that content will come later and in the meantime wants to focus on other projects. His current plan is Last Epoch.
Here you can see the newest class from Last Epoch in the trailer:
“It’s about teaching people something – there’s nothing to teach in Diablo 4”
The streamer says he definitely wants to remain a content creator, especially because he enjoys sharing knowledge. In Diablo 4, he cannot do that because there is nothing to teach. That’s why he wants to immerse himself in Last Epoch now:
I love making guides. I like to know what I’m talking about. I want to level 100 times to level 100 so that my level guide is one of the best, if not the best. […] It looks like the best new ARPG coming soon is Last Epoch. Everyone loves it, everyone says it has a great endgame and crafting system.
Last Epoch is considered serious competition for Diablo 4, gaining more and more attention on Steam. It has been in open development for years and regularly receives new content.
However, Raxxanterax does not want to completely give up on Diablo 4; he just does not have to “practice” it. He is still playing it to stay up to date and hopes that with Season 3 there will finally be enough to do. Only for the meantime does he need something else.
Besides Last Epoch, Path of Exile is also very high on Raxxanterax’s list. Here, however, the streamer wants to wait for the release of PoE 2. For the first part, there are already too many experts; it probably isn’t worth diving in now. Still, he at least wants to get a little “warmed up” for part 2.
Raxxanterax has also cast an eye on the upcoming MMO from Riot. He says MMOs and grinding are exactly his thing. He can imagine checking it out a bit. When the MMO will be released, however, is still completely open:
