Today, June 27th, there are issues with the servers of Diablo 4. With the new update, players are facing extremely long download times and queues. Maintenance is still ongoing.
What is happening today in Diablo 4?
- Today, a major patch before Season 1 was released. Since the update, there have been queues – provided the download even works smoothly.
- Additionally, maintenance is taking place which can lead to connection drops and login issues in Diablo 4.
These settings should be activated if you manage to get into the game after the update:
Some players report long download times and queues on the Diablo 4 subreddit. u/arctccz1 asks in his post what is wrong with the speed of his download.
We have also noticed the long duration of the download, sometimes fluctuating from 58 to 680 kB/s and back, or it seems to temporarily freeze.
After the download, players reach the character selection screen, but are greeted by an endless queue:

When can I play again? The maintenance work is officially expected to last until 11:00 PM. Logging in should still be possible – just stay persistent.
Blizzard writes in the comment about today’s outage (via battle.net): “During this period, there may be limitations and connection drops. However, re-logging should be possible.”
What is the current status? As of 8:15 PM, the download has been successfully completed for many players, but the queues have not yet completely cleared. The problem also occurs on the PS5.
For us, the queues took up to 45 minutes at times, while others had none at all.
What can I do? Probably not much except waiting. We found that pausing and restarting the lagging download helped. Restarting BattleNet might also help.
