The Spiritborn is currently the strongest class in Diablo 4, and many players are having fun with the OP builds. However, switching to another class this season can be quite hard for some.
What is the status of the Spiritborn?
- The Spiritborns came with Vessel of Hatred in Diablo 4. They currently dominate the tier list of the best builds for Season 6 and are still a bit stronger than the competition in the best tier.
- Players are currently regularly debating whether the new class needs a nerf, but some warn against reckless wishes, as Blizzard often listens to feedback.
- In the last YouTube livestream, the developers announced that the community enjoys playing the Spiritborn quite a lot. According to Blizzard, 62% of all players have chosen the class. In comparison: In Season 5, the Sorceress was the most played class – it was at 32%.
On Reddit, users are now sharing how hard it is to switch to another class after playing the strong Spiritborn with its OP builds. They feel really spoiled by the new class.
“The Spiritborn has spoiled me”
Why does the switch feel bad for some? In a post on Reddit, the user BIGREDEEMER explains that it feels like a “slap in the face” to try another class after the Spiritborn. The new class has spoiled him, and the progress feels awful with other classes.
In the comments, users discuss the topic. They mention various reasons why the Spiritborns are currently so popular:
- The gameplay of the Spiritborn and the OP builds are simply more fun.
- Leveling goes quickly because players can breeze through the content and deal good damage. Sometimes even so quickly that players experience the boss mechanics for the first time with other classes.
- Even at a similar level, players with other classes deal less damage; the player with the Spiritborn is always the “main damage dealer.”
- Other classes are not weak; the Spiritborn is just much stronger – especially due to bugs. There was a bugged OP build that only required one button to wipe everything on the screen.
- Playing in a group with Spiritborn players allows one to be almost AFK and farm XP and/or loot while others do all the killing.
For some players, this advantage means they can be carried by others playing the Spiritborn through tough content. For example, taizzle71 writes that his Hunter is fully geared – but a Spiritborn can outperform him, even with worse gear. He gets carried in content like the Abyss because the new class wipes everything – even above Abyss level 100.
In the comment, rizarjay states that he agrees with the post creator. Still, he is even looking forward to playing another class in the upcoming season. “The Spiritborn was almost too easy, while other classes feel good after a good pace of progress. Every new difficulty feels earned and rewarding,” he notes.
And laffs_ believes the developers need to nerf the Spiritborn and fix the bugs so that the game is in a good place. Damien23123 would rather wait until the mid-season update before playing another class. “Hopefully, there will be some buffs,” he writes.
In fact, Blizzard is planning several buffs for the mid-season update, which will soon arrive in Season 6 of Diablo 4. Adjustments are expected for all classes to bring balancing a bit closer together. But the Spiritborn, as a strong class, will also not go empty-handed.
