The test server for Season 10 in Diablo 4 is currently running, and players have noticed a small but significant change. It allows you to quickly see which nightmare dungeons are particularly rewarding, saving a lot of searching.
Season 10 starts according to the roadmap in September 2025 and brings fresh content to Sanctuary: Chaos Portals, Chaos Powers, and Chaos Uniques. If you don’t want to wait until then, you can already check out the new content on the PTR (test server) via Battle.net on PC. The community has made a discovery on the test server that is currently exciting everyone.
Seals are marked as “Whispers”
What change have players discovered? On the PTR for Season 10 in Diablo 4, players have discovered that the seals for nightmare dungeons carry a new symbol. You can see an example on Reddit.
The symbol represents dungeons marked as “Whispers”. If you complete such a dungeon within the given time, you will not only receive the usual XP and loot but also additional gifts. And with 10 gifts, you can collect a loot box at the Tree of Whispers.
Specifically, nightmare dungeons that are simultaneously whispers are doubly rewarding. You receive XP and loot from the dungeon and additionally XP and loot from the box at the Tree of Whispers. For the 10 gifts needed for a box, you generally have to complete about two dungeons.
According to user asria, this also applies to the seals of “Escalating Nightmares”:
How is this received by the community? The change is quite well received. Many players had long wished for this feature. “It was about time,” comments WastedZymbol on Reddit.
Until now, players had to painstakingly check the map to see which dungeons were marked as whispers and then hope that a suitable seal was in their inventory or chest. This is simply time-consuming and annoying. User Valetria summarizes it on Reddit: “This is a perfect quality-of-life improvement. I might actually do more nightmare dungeons in the future if I can farm whispers at the same time.”
What other changes have players discovered? In another Reddit post, a player reports that bosses on the PTR apparently no longer have immunity phases. Whether this really stays that way when Season 10 goes live remains to be seen.
Previously, it was possible to take down most bosses with just a few hits or even “oneshot” them. However, with Season 8, Blizzard adjusted the difficulty levels, resulting in bosses not only having more hit points but also additional immunity phases. This has deprived players of their only secret weapon against the toughest opponents in Diablo 4.
