In Blizzard’s action RPG Diablo 4 the second season was supposed to start today at 7:00 PM, but the developers report complications. The start was even surprisingly postponed.
Actually, Season 2 of Diablo 4 was supposed to start today, October 17, 2023, at 7:00 PM German time but as Blizzard announced on X, formerly Twitter, at 19:10, the start of the second season will be delayed.
In the post it is stated that the team has encountered some complications and is postponing the season start by “a few hours” to fix the issues.

Additionally, the developers noted in a post on Reddit that the complications are due to technical issues with the current build. Furthermore, the statement said that they plan to release further updates on the situation as more information becomes available.
When does Season 2 now start? Blizzard initially did not disclose when exactly Season 2 should start after the delay. It was said the start would be delayed by several hours.
At 21:09, exactly 2 hours after the delay, the season went live. Diablo celebrated this with a post on X.com/Twitter.
Diablo 4 disables crossplay at the start of Season 2
Are the problems now solved? Even though Season 2 is now live, there are still technical issues, as stated in a post on X.com/Twitter. Due to these issues, crossplay between PC and console is currently disabled.
The developers are still working on a solution.

Season 2 is all about vampires
What does Season 2 bring? The second season of Diablo 4 will bring its own story centered around vampires as well as a large list of buffs and adjustments to known mechanics. Additionally, you can secure the Butcher’s Hook by playing Call of Duty.
The major feature of Season 2, however, is the so-called vampire powers, which are not class-specific and change how the class you play functions.
In total, there are 22 different vampire powers that you gain by defeating boss enemies. These drop “Potent Blood” that you use in the character menu to unlock the new abilities.
