What are these “voodoo strategies”? On Reddit, a user named “Grand_Chef_Bandit” has launched a broadside against the strange tactics of some players, calling them “voodoo.”
As an example of such a strategy, he mentions the assumption that having a low-level character in the group would increase the drop rate of Uber Uniques. According to him, that’s nonsense and one would just be wasting their time.
Under the post, another player explains that a friend of theirs believed that the person summoning Duriel has a higher chance of receiving Uber Uniques.
Another strange strategy states that players will receive good loot if they follow rats and kill enemies where the rats stop.
What is the truth behind these strategies? Not much. They are mostly unproven assumptions that players had, spread, and could not prove. Often a kind of superstition plays a role.
In the end, it’s up to each person to try or avoid curious strategies from Reddit. However, it is very likely that you are just wasting time without increasing your drop rate. Just like it doesn’t help to spam the A button in Pokémon while the Poké Ball wobbles during a catch attempt.
