Updates for the Vessel of Hatred expansion
Expansion: Vessel of Hatred
- Varyana’s health has been reduced for her acquisition quest.
- Portal trickster chests in the Lower City of Kurast are now also affected by the active agreement.
- Additional loading screens have been added around Nahantu.
- The descriptions for tributes from the Lower City of Kurast have been clarified.
Fixed Bugs in Vessel of Hatred
Dark Citadel
- Several instances where tooltips and icons were missing or incorrect in the Dark Citadel have been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed where the cosmetic item “Gloves of the Khazra” could be recycled and lost.
- A bug has been fixed that prevented players from interacting with the community challenge podium when playing with a controller.
- A bug has been fixed where completing “Enclave of Discord” sometimes did not unlock Soul Labyrinth.
- A bug has been fixed where cosmetic rewards for completing the Dark Citadel were sometimes not awarded correctly.
- A bug has been fixed where Faeroch’s “Labyrinth Malaise” did not consistently apply.
- A bug has been fixed where the stack of the incense of the raging winds did not expire correctly.
- A bug has been fixed where magnificent chests in the Dark Citadel did not drop citadel coins chests.
Lower City of Kurast
- A bug has been fixed where Longfang could become temporarily invisible when using a certain attack.
- A bug has been fixed where the primary resources agreement did not guarantee an item with the corresponding affix.
- A bug has been fixed that allowed players to join a group while it was in an active run in the Lower City of Kurast.
- A bug has been fixed that allowed players to join the group at the end of an run of the Lower City and still receive rewards.
- A bug has been fixed where the completion of the introductory quests for the Lower City of Kurast was only credited to one player in the group.
- A rare bug has been fixed that allowed Lower City runs to start without activating the timer.
- A bug has been fixed where various summoned companions such as ghost wolves could grant attunement when they died or vanished.
- A bug has been fixed where the description for the tribute of the Titans contained no other sources next to hideout bosses.
Mercenaries
- A bug has been fixed where the same mercenary could be displayed as both hired and recruited at the same time.
- A bug has been fixed where progress in Varyana’s acquisition quest could be blocked after speaking with Zulmog.
- A bug has been fixed where bonus stats obtained through a mercenary’s passive skill could persist after the mercenary had already been dismissed.
- A bug has been fixed where the quest Trade did not grant rewards.
- A bug has been fixed where it was not clear how to unlock the trade.
Hell Flood and Strongholds
- A bug has been fixed where a victory over the Blood Maiden after the end of a Hell Flood did not fulfill the associated quest objective of Deeds of a Champion.
- A bug has been fixed where monsters in Chakhir granted too little experience.
Dungeons
- A bug has been fixed where the graphic effects of Bloodthorns’ Vortex could persist even when no damage was dealt at the end of the Forgotten Remains.
- A bug has been fixed where the cellar “Sunbathed Lookout” could not be completed.
Spiritborn
- A bug has been fixed where Spiritborn characters could not use the Hunger Chest of the Necromancer.
- A bug has been fixed where using Escape could consume Escape charges if you had points for Acceleration and were also wearing boots that granted additional Escape charges.
- A bug has been fixed where ghost halls modifications applied by Ebewaka’s Harmony were not displayed with the corresponding skills when mounted or in town.
- A bug has been fixed where the aspect of distraction did not display the damage dealt.
Quests and Events
- A bug has been fixed where the player could re-enter an area during the quest Advance into Darkness behind an insurmountable barricade.
- A bug has been fixed where some side quests in Nahantu did not grant reputation rewards.
- A bug has been fixed where the quest All Good Things could not progress if the objective “Collect Akarat’s Power” was skipped.
- A bug has been fixed in the quest Ignorant Survivors where the player could re-enter an area from which they could not escape.
- A bug has been fixed where the quest The Scales of History was available at level 20, although it required crafting an elixir that requires level 40.
- A bug has been fixed where the Messenger of Hate could become stuck in an invincible state in rare cases.
- A bug has been fixed where all monsters could drop Urivar’s commands after leaving the Spilled Chamber during the quest Living Memory.
- A rare bug has been fixed that could cause Neyrelle to get stuck during the quest Burning Crusade, blocking progress.
- A bug has been fixed where companions in the quest Eyes Closed and Through could not dismount if the player used a Necromancer with summoned skeleton scrubbers.
- A bug has been fixed where items obtained from quests could have missing or incorrect default affixes.
- A bug has been fixed where the shrine ambush event could not be completed if it occurred in the cellar “Rotting Corpse Pit”.
Miscellaneous
- A bug has been fixed where gems and runes in content such as the pit, where equipment modification should be locked, could be exchanged or removed from sockets.
- A bug has been fixed where boots obtained through trade were missing the standard affix for modifying “Escape”.
- A bug has been fixed where the Jeweler was located in the training ground area in Kurast.
Updates to the Base Game
Season of Rising Hate
- Bright chests at the end of Legion events now grant players with an active Churning Opal bonus loot and reputation with the Zakarum relics when the chest is opened.
- The description for Churning Opals now states that the additional loot chance also applies to loot at the end of a run (e.g. for the pit or the Lower City of Kurast).
- In the fight against the Realmshaper, an additional wave of Bloodbound Guardians can now appear.
- The health of the Realmshaper has been doubled.
Miscellaneous
- The limit for gem fragments has been significantly increased.
- The required amount of damage to force a dismount has been increased to reduce this in the endgame.
- A quick list for Hell Hordes has been added to the group finder on the map.
- Support for VRR (variable refresh rate) has been introduced for PlayStation™ 5. VRR can be enabled for screens that support it by setting it to “automatic” in the console settings. When activated, the framerate can exceed 60 as long as it is within the VRR range of the screen when improved graphics are disabled.

Accessibility
- A bug has been fixed where character portraits did not apply color blindness modes.
Season of Rising Hate
- A bug has been fixed where Bloodbound Guardians were difficult to attack with melee characters.
Hell Flood and Hell Hordes
- A bug has been fixed where the objective to defeat the Cruel Council could not progress after all bosses were defeated.
Gameplay
General
- A bug has been fixed where the following affixes could not appear as Major Affixes.
- Chance for Blood Lance to deal double damage
- Chance for Bone Storm to deal double damage
- Chance for Corpse Explosion to deal double damage
- Chance for Reaper to deal double damage
- Chance for Flame Death to deal double damage
- Chance for Teleport to deal double damage
- A bug has been fixed where Whispered Intruders such as Grotesque Debtors did not drop loot.
- A bug has been fixed where the hardening recipe for “Elemental Surge” always rolled the maximum value.
- A bug has been fixed where world bosses only dropped one healing potion when the respective health thresholds were reached.
- A bug has been fixed where the treasure chest of Gnawer the Gold damned vanished after death.
- A bug has been fixed where the Beast in the Ice did not appear when summoned again at the altar in the Glacier’s Crevice.
- A bug has been fixed where Lilith’s Echo was prevented from destroying the ground if she was staggered at the right moment.
- A bug has been fixed where leftover ingolith and lesser iron of eternal characters could not be transmuted to obduzit.
- Several instances where champion monsters and whispered intruders could appear at difficulties below torment have been fixed.
- Various instances where too many champion monsters appeared at lower torment difficulty levels have been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed where healing wells did not fully heal the player.
- A bug has been fixed where activating a shrine of greed on a mount prevented the gold explosion that should occur after the effect expired.
- A bug has been fixed where cooldowns of skills could be randomly reset when mounted.
- Several instances where magic and rare items could drop when they shouldn’t have been able to have been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed where lightning enchanted monsters could deal damage to the player from too far away.
Druids
- A bug has been fixed where “Rend” would rush to the nearest target instead of the targeted one.
Necromancers
- A bug has been fixed where the Lotusrending Aspect did not benefit correctly from the affix for the chance to deal double damage with “Reaper”.
Hunters
- A bug has been fixed where you could unexpectedly lose charges when moving in tight circles with “Dance of Knives”.
Sorcerers
- A bug has been fixed where the familiar enchantment effect did not work when “Familiar” was on cooldown without charges.
- A bug has been fixed where the player could move while “Frozen” was active if “Frozen” was used after teleporting into the Dark Citadel.
Quests and Events
- A bug has been fixed where the hunters during the quest Healing Nature did not appear as they should have.
- A bug at lower difficulty levels has been fixed where not enough opponents appeared to meet the mastery goal for the event “Soul Vessel”.
- A bug has been fixed where in the event “Holding Out” suddenly no opponents appeared in certain locations.
- A bug has been fixed where the pressure plates for the event “Ancient Obelisk” could get stuck, blocking the completion of the event.
- A bug has been fixed where the Obelisk of the Pit of the Workmaster and the associated portal were difficult to click on.
Dungeons and Strongholds
- A bug has been fixed where you could no longer interact with the Animus Urn in the Bastion of Faith if you had already interacted with it before having enough Animus to activate.
- A bug has been fixed where the barracks gate in Kor Dragan’s barracks could open before it was unlocked.
- A bug has been fixed where progress in “Glimmer of Hope” could be blocked if you used a city portal after using the crossing created by the “Survive the Drowned’s Attack” objective.
Group Finder
- A bug has been fixed where the following things were not available for the quick list:
- Boss leaderboard hides
- World bosses
- Non-Hell Flood Whispered
- A bug has been fixed where the training ground appeared as an activity in the group finder.
- A bug has been fixed where the pit levels could still change after listing the group.
- A bug has been fixed where the notification prompting players to remove their group from the list before proceeding could persist in certain situations.
User Interface and User Experience
- Several instances where some rune and skill icons were incorrect have been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed where some tooltips regarding the jeweler did not mention runes.
- A bug has been fixed where the tooltips in the occultist menu for recycling seals did not also include the information that this includes Hell compasses and Lower City tributes.
- A bug has been fixed where the tooltip for levels in the character stats window indicated that you would not gain skill points from level 50 onwards instead of from level 60.
- A bug has been fixed where the new item symbol in the materials tab persisted indefinitely.
- A bug has been fixed where the Paragon tab was locked after viewing a Paragon board attachment while the keyword search was open.
- A bug has been fixed where players using a controller could not pick up items dropped by tortured boss altars.
Miscellaneous
- A bug has been fixed where Lord Zir dropped the cosmetic diadem of the ancients as a normal item.
- A bug has been fixed where the run mode did not activate under automatic movement or on a mount.
- A bug has been fixed where ring collection chests from the Whispering Tree did not grant experience.
