The wizard class in Diablo 4 frustrates players and causes discontent. After the release, it was the most popular class in the game.
- Blizzard has nerfed a strong wizard build so severely that it seems as if they deleted it from the endgame.
- At the beginning of June, wizards were the most played class in Diablo 4.
- After a major patch, players viewed the class at the end of June as a clear loser and complained about the lack of buffs.
On Reddit, a user writes on July 16 about his experiences with the wizard class in Diablo 4, which he has played for 330 hours, and concludes that he will not play the class for at least 2-3 seasons.

On July 20, Season 1 starts in Diablo 4. Here you can see the trailer:
“The class is falling apart”
What are players complaining about? In the Diablo 4 subreddit, user HiTmAn4777 writes about the wizard class, which he has played for 330 hours. He notes that he has enormous difficulties managing nightmare dungeons over level 70 with his wizard (via Reddit).
As a wizard, he barely manages to trigger vulnerability on enemies, which is important for high damage. The Paragon boards are disappointing, there are hardly any legendary nodes that really benefit the class. Also, there are only a few unique items with which one can create a good build.
Other players thank him for his constructive contribution, many agree with him. Klingon_Bloodwine writes: “The class feels good during the campaign and in the early world tiers up to T3, but really starts to fall apart as soon as you reach T4.” (via Reddit).
On July 10, Ggthefiree2 posts a “wizard starter pack” in the Diablo 4 subreddit (via Reddit). It includes, among other things, the message about the death of the character, an empty mana display, a lack of variety in build options, and the endless waiting for patch notes:
In another Reddit post, AdhesivenessSolid562 also writes that there are often mana issues, especially in the early game (via Reddit). He also has enormous problems starting at level 60 in nightmare dungeons, which other classes can easily handle at the same level.
DegenDreamer reacts to his post with “I’m low on precious mana,” which is a well-known quote among wizards in combat situations in Diablo 4. He receives 345 upvotes for the comment (via Reddit).
The comments on Reddit show that the once most popular class in Diablo 4 has disappointed many players. Whether the new patch will bring a useful buff for wizards remains to be seen – many players currently have doubts about it.
Season 1 in Diablo 4 starts on July 20. A preload for the patch is already possible:
