In Diablo 4 numerous blue exclamation marks pop up, behind which lie more or less exciting side quests. Many players feel the urge to complete as many side quests as possible. While they complete the main quest, they collect all the side quests they encounter. But Blizzard throws obstacles in their way.
What is the problem? Blizzard has implemented a maximum number of side quests that we can activate simultaneously. Currently, you can take on a total of 20 side tasks at the same time. If you want to accept the 21st, a text box appears, informing you of your side quest limit:
This is frustrating for many players because they cannot accept additional side quests during the main quest progression and therefore have to ignore the blue exclamation marks.
Even worse is that in certain areas, quest-relevant items can drop that would trigger a side quest. These items then have to be left on the ground, which breaks the heart of every loot collector.

This can even lead to the fact that some side quests cannot be completed at all. AMerexican787 reports that he had to accompany a girl to her old farm in a side quest.
Halfway through, a quest item drops that is needed to complete the current quest. But he was already at the limit and could not pick up the item. Yet triggering the second quest is needed to complete the original quest.
A particularly exciting side quest has been singled out by MeinMMO:
Additionally, there are quest givers where suddenly several new side tasks arise. One user had completed a quest from an NPC and wanted to collect the reward, but afterward, the same quest giver had two new quests for him.
How many quests can be completed simultaneously? You can accept a maximum of 20 side tasks at once. According to the post creator, there are a total of 213 side quests, which means we can’t even accept ten percent of all side tasks at once.
Some players defend Blizzard’s decision
However, in the community, there are also a few dissenting voices that can understand the maximum number of side tasks. Some players believe that you shouldn’t just “stuff quests in like candy”.

In response to the last comment, a user replies that he doesn’t complete the side tasks to save time. Many players rush through the campaign at first to obtain the horse as quickly as possible. This allows them to move much faster in Diablo 4.
