Season 3 has introduced a mechanical companion in Diablo 4, which you can customize yourself. A player has transformed their Seneschal into a Destroyer, effortlessly demolishing dungeons.
The core mechanic in Season 3 is the Seneschal, a mechanical companion, which you can customize with stones. He faithfully follows you throughout Sanctuary and cannot die. With Patch 1.3.1, the companion was made even stronger.
On Reddit, a player writes on February 22 that they have transformed their Seneschal into a Destroyer. It essentially slices its way through dungeons all on its own and even takes down bosses. And “Oldbrothercupboard” can enjoy his sandwich while this happens.
How did he build his Seneschal? “Oldbrothercupboard” mentions on Reddit which lead and tuning stones he used for his “Seneschal in Destroyer Mode”:
- Lead stone: Firefly
- Tuning stones: Multi-shot support, Piercing support, Seeking support
- Lead stone: Focused fire
- Tuning stones: Break support, Arc support, Cold support
With Firefly, the Seneschal sends out a small construct that explodes three times on the target. The skill also fires additional projectiles that automatically seek enemies and pierce through additional foes.
With Focused fire, the Seneschal channels a beam of fire and deals damage over time. The damage immediately destroys enemy barriers and has a chance to make enemies vulnerable. This can hit additional enemies. Part of the damage is considered cold damage which causes chilling.

What else did he equip? In his post, “Oldbrothercupboard” mentions that he used an elixir that increases his attack speed by 20% (“Berserker’s Elixir of Attack”). He plays a hunter at level 100 with the stats: 13,150 attack power, 12,763 armor, 12,489 health.
I ran across the entire map without pressing a single attack button, and my Seneschal effortlessly killed everything, including Kixxarth [Boss in the Hell Flood]. I also defeated Duriel and the Echo of Malphas without attacking. However, Lilith still one-shots me every time.
In the comments, “Oldbrothercupboard” notes that the Seneschal does all the work, and he just needs to find healing potions to maintain his health. He can “eat a sandwich with one hand while managing a nightmare dungeon with the other.”
Does this really work? We tested the setup with a level 100 Necromancer and similar attack power (13,429). However, we swapped out “Cold support” halfway through the dungeon for the Unique stone “Genesis”.
And we actually didn’t have much to do, neither before the stone swap nor after. In the meantime, we had to stabilize our health while the Seneschal sliced through the mobs:
Whether it is fun to let the Seneschal do all the work while you are fighting mobs while just dodging and healing is something everyone must decide for themselves.
