The Pit is the new content in Diablo 4 that has dominated the endgame since Season 4. In increasingly difficult levels, you fight against a timer and are rewarded with materials for crafting. One player is trying to make the farm as efficient as possible instead of pushing as far as possible – with success.
This is the performance:
- The Pit is the new endgame dungeon with 200 levels that become increasingly difficult. Not even the best players have mastered the Pit yet.
- However, the dungeon is not just for measuring strength; you also receive materials for hardening and completion, the new crafting system in Diablo 4.
- Exactly Level 101 of the Pit is the “Sweet Spot” for farming, because you receive linear rewards up to that point. After that, it decreases.
The user StickyPine207 on Reddit has optimized his farm build for the group with his Barbarian. He only takes 56 seconds to complete the dungeon – including the final boss:
This is the build: StickyPine207 plays a Barbarian and utilizes a Whirlwind build. Whirlwind Barbarians are only in the A tier on the tier list of the best builds, but they are extremely strong for farming in the Pit.
The player uses a build that deviates somewhat from the “norm”. He sacrifices mobility for more damage by replacing Leap and Stomp with Wrath of the Berserker and Blood Spike:
- The main damage comes from Whirlwind combined with the Aspect of the Dust Devil, which causes small whirlwinds to appear around the Barbarian and deal damage to enemies.
- The aim is also to keep the Berserker mode active at all times. This mode increases your damage and movement speed. Together with the battle cries, the build multiplies the damage of dust devils.
- Additionally, StickyPine207’s build uses 4 Uber Uniques: Shako, the Ring of the Starless Sky, Tyrael’s Might, and the Grandfather.
In addition, the player uses the Elixir of the Holy Bolts, which is exclusively available in Season 4. This fires holy bolts upon killing enemies, dealing damage to all foes in the vicinity.
Gameplay mainly consists of buffs and Whirlwind, so “Spin to Win,” which has been part of the Barbarian class fantasy since at least Diablo 2. You can find the build with all items and stats on d4builds.gg.
Class balance concerns the community
Although StickyPine207’s videos are receiving recognition, some users cannot resist pointing out the absurd strength of the Barbarian. Even the player admits: After playing a Druid, the Barbarian feels so much more powerful.
In the comments, it is cynically stated: “Hey Blizzard, Barbarians seem too weak. Can you please buff them?” The discussion has been ongoing for weeks, as Barbarians can boast of absurd strength that no other class can match.
Class balance has been a contentious issue in the community since the release of Diablo 4. Back then, Barbarians were considered too weak; now they are the undisputed kings of the tier list.
Whether that will change with Season 5 remains to be seen. Currently, the changes are being tested on the PTR, and there have been adjustments for all classes. In theory, everyone should have become stronger, but according to initial observations, this has not entirely worked: Blizzard is buffing all classes in Diablo 4 with Season 5, but one will actually become even weaker: ‘40% less damage’
