In Diablo 4, there are items with various rarity levels. A player presents a “legendary” item that actually doesn’t exist. The community reacts with surprise and says: This is probably rarer than the rarest items in the game.
When players find loot in Diablo 4, it is mostly rare items (yellow) or legendary items (orange). In some cases, they also find Uniques or even Uber Uniques – the rarest items in the game. A player has now found an item that is “only” rare, but at the same time also legendary.
What kind of item is this? “FR0ZENBERG” presents their find on July 29 on Reddit. At first glance, it is a yellow item – a chest armor named “Paragon’s Ire.” However, the chest armor has three affixes and an aspect, which only legendary items possess.
Since Season 4, however, rare items only have 2 affixes, making them particularly uninteresting for players in the endgame. While you can also imprint an aspect on them at the blacksmith and improve them with the new crafting systems Hardening and Completion, there would simply be one affix missing.

And “heartbroken_nerd” states: “Three affixes and an aspect. This is a Legendary in all but name.”
Where did he find the item? In a comment, “FR0ZENBERG” writes that he received the item from a yellow item chest that he got from a side quest. Several users note that this could be the reason for the account-binding.
What is so special about the item? In summary, the item has several things that are very unusual:
- It is “yellow,” thus rare, but has an aspect. This is only typical of legendary items.
- It is “sacred” and has only 3 chances to reroll when hardening.
- It has the affix “damage reduction,” which has only dropped in rare cases since Season 4 – and according to “JediMasterWiggin,” never on a chest armor.
- It is account-bound, which may relate to the origin of the item.
Since he cannot sell the item, he has the options of selling it to an NPC, dismantling it, or simply keeping it.
