Most players in Diablo 4 feel like they are not experiencing much new anymore. Therefore, it is all the more interesting when a very rare event occurs. A player has now found a chest that some have not even heard of.
What kind of chest is this? It is the so-called “Motherlock Chest” – a mysterious chest, locked with a glowing lock secured by four chains.
The chest is one of the rarest random events in Diablo 4 and has been in the game since its launch. However, if you want to open the “Motherlock Chest”, it cannot be done so easily; first, a puzzle must be solved before the lock opens.
The Reddit user Poppin-candy shared his find on Reddit, causing quite a stir, as hardly anyone knew about the chest, despite many hours of gameplay.

Only the correct sentence opens the chest
What kind of puzzle is this? The puzzle surrounding the “Motherlock Chest” consists of several sentences from which you must choose the correct one for the chest to open. Each sentence consists of three words that must be arranged in the correct order to grant access. Around the location of the chest, there are three small monuments with inscriptions.
These monuments must be placed in the correct order: first the birth monument, then life, and finally death. The words spoken during this process and displayed on the screen serve as the key to decipher the puzzle and open the chest.

What was in the chest? The loot in the chest was reportedly disappointing, as the creator of the Reddit post stated: “The loot was unfortunately not as exciting as finding the chest itself”.
Below the post, the user TheHeinousMelvins provided a crucial hint: “When you encounter your next one, and you successfully made the sentence the first time, you will notice that this sentence is grayed out and no longer available. In fact, you get slightly better loot on the second one. Based on this trend, it’s best to keep trading.”
So it is possible that special loot awaits at the end of all the chests. However, due to the rarity of the chest, it may take some time before we receive a final answer on this.
What do other players say about the find? Many players simply did not know about the chest, despite having played several characters.

To this, thekmanpwnudwn responds: “Since the launch. They are extremely rare, I have 8 characters at level 100 and have never seen one. You need to find parts of a sentence that are hidden around the chest and then input that sentence. You will be lucky to get a legendary item; the loot is miserable for its rarity.”
zoley88 writes: “I’ve been playing since launch and have never seen this. I also remember some sort of DDR event back then, which I never saw either.”
